As the representative of German neo-expressionist painter,Marcus Lüpertz inherited the German expressionist painting tradition, romantic cultural tradition and German Gothic artistic characteristics, and also carried the unique German characteristics.Social history experience, and merge it into his own unique painting style.Starting from the "Ode to the Bacchus" series,Lüpeltz tried different themes in paintings, reflecting the inheritance of Greek elements, reaction to Pop Art,and irony and symbolic reconstruction of German Nazi history.Under these different painting themes,Lüpeltz has always shown a strong "Bacchus spirit",which is manifested as a tendency of carnivalization, irrationality and demorality.Lüpeltz resisted the dissolution of traditional art by modernism and the change of American abstract painting with the characteristics of Bacchus-like painting, and also against the abuse of German painting by Nazi centralized power.Following the "Baccarat" series,Lüpeltz’s painting no longer satisfies the expression of one element, one thing, and one theme, but expresses himself through the common display of multiple elements. Therefore,in his painting There is a multi-voice expression called "polyphony" in Bakhtin: on the one hand,Lüpeltz’s paintings show a dialogue between the self and the other, and on the other hand,it also reflects a kind of separation Continuing with the historical theme of space-time.It can be said that the core spirit of Marcus Lüpeltz’s painting is the embodiment of the spirit of Dionysian, and the expression of his painting is reflected in a polyphonic polyphonic form.
