As a product of the cultural exchange between China and the west, the debate on allegory in the book of songs is a long and complex process. The different methods adopted by scholars from all walks of life in responding to the allegory in the book of songs reflect the different research orientations in different stages of cultural exchange between China and the West. However, the question of "whether the book of songs is allegorical" has not been solved. Therefore, this paper will examine the similarities and differences between the interpretation and allegory of the book of songs from the perspectives of structural characteristics and meaning generating power,in order to further answer the question of "whether the book of songs is allegorical".Because sinologists generally take Guanju as the breakthrough point when they start the debate on the allegory of the book of songs, and also consider that in the traditional interpretation of the book of songs, the interpretation around Guanju usually represents the overall mode of the interpretation of the book of songs. Therefore, when exploring the interpretation of the book of songs, this paper will take Guanju as the text foothold to radiate the whole interpretation of the book of songs. The first chapter re-examines the debate on allegory in the book of songs from the perspective of comparative poetics. While sorting out the genealogy of the representative argumentative views, this paper makes a comment on the paradigm of cultural exchange between China and the West.In the process of rethinking whether the book of songs is satirical or not,the "comparable" and "incomparable" models constructed by sinologists are analyzed, and the rationality and the hidden problems are analyzed,so as to re-examine the case of comparative poetics. The second chapter focuses on the characteristics of the structure of Great preface to poetry and allegory.First of all, from the "wind" of the interpretation characteristics of the preface to poetry,we can understand the interpretation characteristics of the normative reading of the preface to poetry. Then,it compares and analyzes the concepts of allegory, metaphor and symbol, and combines with the practice of allegorical interpretation to clarify the multiple interpretation characteristics of allegorical interpretation. Finally, the paper compares the interpretive features and allegory of the preface to the book of songs, and points out their isomorphic structure in the interpretive mode and effect of saying this and meaning that, and points out the limit of dialogue between the two in view of their different combination with history,so as to preliminarily respond to the question "is the book of songs allegory or not" from the perspective of interpretive structure. The third chapter analyzes the similarities and differences in the meaning-making mechanisms of the unstable allegorical interpretation and the hermeneutic history of Guan Ju.First,it focuses on the instability of the allegorical interpretation of the Song of Songs, and understands the meaning-making mechanism of allegorical interpretation in the light of Rabbi Akiba’s and Origen’s practice of allegorical interpretation. Then, the history of the unstable interpretation of the Guan Ju is briefly sorted out,and the dynamics of the continuous meaning generation of the Guan Ju are pointed out. Finally, the similar structure of the meaning-generating dynamics between the two is summarized, and the question of whether the Shi Jing is a allegory is further responded to from the perspective of the meaning-generating dynamics of interpretation.By analyzing the limits and possibilities of the dialogue between the two perspectives,we can deepen the understanding of the interpretation characteristics of the book of songs, expand the research field of vision of the book of songs, and resolve the presupposition of either or judgment in the original problem...
