Explicit grammar teaching and implicit grammar teaching are two common teaching strategies.In the process of explicit grammar teaching,grammar rules are clearly presented to students through the teacher’s explanation.Students should be able to better understand the language form and syntactic structure.However,for secondary vocational students with weak foundation,they often lose interest in learning English because of the dull classroom atmosphere and a lot of mechanical practice.In the process of implicit grammar teaching,teachers can better stimulate students’ learning enthusiasm and initiative by designing a lively and interesting communicative environment,so that students can better learn,discover and summarize grammar rules.However,due to the lack of clear explanation of grammar rules,students’ mastery of grammar rules is not systematic enough,so there are a lot of grammatical errors in the output process.These two teaching modes are not independent and exclusive,but complement and can promote each other.In view of the fact that English grammar teaching in secondary vocational schools mainly focuses on explicit grammar teaching,combined with the actual situation that secondary vocational students are weak in English grammar,the author takes the present perfect tense as an example,tries to reform the existing grammar teaching effect by combining explicit and implicit grammar teaching mode,and tries to answer the following two questions:1.What is the effect of the explicit-implicit grammar teaching mode in Secondary Vocational English teaching?2.How does the explicit-implicit grammar teaching mode affect the learning interest of secondary vocational students?In view of the similar final examination results,the author selected two classes(50students in each class)of a secondary vocational school to carry out the experiment,and randomly selected one class as the experimental class and the other class as the control class.Among them,the experimental class adopted the explicit-implicit grammar teaching mode,while the control class adopted the explicit grammar teaching mode.The results showed that the explicit-implicit teaching mode has achieved good results in English grammar teaching in secondary vocational schools.It is more effective in improving students’ English grammar achievement.Moreover,the application of the explicit-implicit grammar teaching mode has improved the students’ interest in English grammar learning and mobilized their learning initiative.This research holds that the explicit-implicit teaching mode in grammar teaching can be promoted so as to improve the English grammar teaching in secondary vocational schools and enhance the comprehensive quality of secondary vocational students.
