| Since the reform and opening up,China has changed from a closed and semi-closed society to a fully open society.As China has made great achievements in economy,its people have shifted from just having enough food and clothing to the basic well-off life.As a result,people’s mind has also undergone great changes and Chinese people become more open-minded.In the past,people turned pale when talking about sex and were reluctant to talk about it.With the penetration of western culture such as "sexual freedom" and "sexual liberation" and the spread of sex related information by mass media,traditional views of chastity and sexual morality gradually become weak in people’s mind,and sexual attitudes become increasingly open.Psychologists in China have conducted a lot of research on sexual attitudes,mainly on teenagers and college students,but neglected graduate students.As highly educated talents in our country,graduate students have heavy academic burden,having no time to take care of love and marriage.Their sexual needs are suppressed,and they are confused about sex-related issues.Therefore,their mental health problems should attract our attention.However,there is a lack of a good scale suitable for measuring the sexual attitude of graduate students.Few scholars have studied the impact of sexual attitude on love satisfaction though sexual attitude is a part of love.Therefore,this study intends to explore the sexual attitudes of graduate students,compile a scale of sexual attitudes suitable for graduate students,analyze the status quo of graduate students’ sexual attitudes,and explore the moderating effect of gender on the influence of sexual attitude on love satisfaction.By combing the previous literature related to sexual attitude,this study proposes the operational definition of sexual attitude.Sexual attitude refers to the stable views and evaluations held by individuals on sexual issues,including sexual cognition,sexual emotion and sexual behavior intention.The sexual attitudes discussed in this paper mainly refer to graduate students’ views on sexual behavior.On the basis of referring to domestic and foreign literatures and scales related to sexual attitudes,with the help of the results of the open questionnaire survey for graduate students and the suggestions of experts,we developed a preliminary questionnaire with 55 items and7 dimensions.Randomly surveyed online were 223 graduate students.Through project analysis and exploratory factor analysis,some unqualified items were deleted,and finally a formal scale with 26 items and 6 dimensions was formed.In the formal study,224 graduate students were randomly surveyed online.SPSS22.0 and AMOS22.0 software were used to test the reliability and validity of the data.The reliability test includes internal consistency reliability and split-half reliability,and the validity test includes content validity,structure validity and calibration validity.At the same time,descriptive statistical analysis was carried out on the survey results.Differences in demographic variables(gender,grade,family location,major,emotional status,sexual experience)were discussed.Then,the moderating effect of gender on the impact of sexual attitude on the love satisfaction of the in-love graduate students was discussed.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The self-compiled sexual attitude scale for graduate students contains 26 items,which are divided into 6 dimensions: emotional orientation,health orientation,tolerance orientation,openness orientation,physiological orientation and contraceptive orientation.(2)The self-compiled sexual attitude scale has good reliability and validity and can be used as a tool to measure and study the sexual attitude of graduate students.(3)The scores of graduate students’ sexual attitude is generally high.Male graduate students scored higher than female graduate students in the total score of sexual attitude,and on the dimensions of emotion,tolerance and physiology.The graduate students from urban areas scored significantly higher in both the total score of sexual attitude and openness dimension than the graduate students from rural areas.The score of science students in tolerance dimension is higher than that of liberal arts students.Viewed from the perspective of affective status,there were significant differences in graduate students’ total score of sexual attitude and the dimensions of tolerance and physiology.Scores for married graduate students were significantly higher than those for single graduate students or the graduate students in a relationship.In the dimension of tolerance tendency,the score of single graduate students was significantly higher than that of graduate students in love.Graduate students with sexual experience scored significantly higher on the total score of sexual attitude and the dimensions of emotion,openness and contraception than those without sexual experience.(4)Gender,as a third-party variable,has no moderating effect on the relationship between sexual attitude and love satisfaction. |
