The ritual and music culture,one of the essence and important characteristics of ancient Chinese culture,which not only profoundly affects the development of ancient Chinese society but also profoundly affects contemporary one,is a vital culture that has formed a successful model of socialist governance with Chinese characteristics.The Book of Rites is a classic document that records the culture of ritual and music,and The Book of Music,as an important chapter in that,has very unique meaning and value.It not only involves the Confucian understanding of the origin and characteristics of music,but also involves the extensive and profound relationship between music and people,society and politics.The core is ancient Chinese political ethics of the construction of Confucianism and the accomplishment of social governance,which contains the profound wisdom of ancient Confucian scholars on political and social governance,which is of far-reaching significance to the history and reality of China.Obviously,this is an important document worthy of in-depth study and further exploration.Based on traditional Chinese Confucian ritual and music culture and in-depth investigation of the basic social background and theoretical origins of the writing of The Book of Music,the author hope to further explore the mechanism and core concepts of the political ethics of that so as to provide useful theoretical thinking of the successful governance model of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Starting from the connotation and basic characteristics of ritual and music,this thesis expounds the origins of ritual and music thought before and after The Book of Music,and expounds the political ethics of the six arts of ritual and music,and discusses the problem of its writing time and author.From the perspective of historical origin,music education was first originally produced in religious sacrificial activities,which is an important way of communication between man and nature,and then became an activity to praise the emperor’s merits and great achievements,and finally gradually became the Confucian ideal of pursuing political ethics.This process itself shows that the core of its concern is political ethics,and music itself has developed as an important way of governing the country.The so-called political ethics here does not mean that political relations are restricted and influenced by family blood relations,but refers to the Confucian royal political ideals that base political relations and political activities on people’s hearts and feelings.This thesis mainly expounds the political ethics mechanism and core meanings of The Book of Music from the four aspects about music origin theory,function theory,value theory and methodology.The origin theory of music is that music is born from the heart,which is the external expression of human emotions with universal social significance.The functional theory of music is the prerequisite for political ethics to be possible.The difference of etiquette,the contract of pleasure,the spirit of harmony of pleasure is manifested in three aspects: the sum of the individual’s body and mind,the sum of the society,and the sum of heaven and earth.This is the basic way for political ethics to be possible.The value theory of music is the harmony between ritual and music,and harmony between politics and people is the value pursuit of political ethics.The morality of music is the highest ideal of the book,which is the highest ideal.Music education is the key intermediary between the rule of ritual and the rule of virtue,and it is the ideal state where political ethics can be achieved.This is the methodology of music.The essence of political ethicization in The Book of Music is the Confucian pursuit of royal political ideals,and this pursuit still has very important enlightenment significance for the construction of contemporary China’s governance model.Different from the domineering politics that simply wins by force,traditional Confucianism hopes to base politics on people’s hearts and feelings,and make the rule of ethics reach the rule of virtue through music education.In the eyes of political realists,it is inevitable that this is a bit false.However,is politics destined to be a naked game of power and strength? Obviously,regardless of Chinese and Western,at least the pursuit of classical politics is not like this.Today,if we remove the blood family characteristics of political ethics,and focus on the characteristics of pursuit of harmony,human feelings,and harmony,why not provide some good enlightenment for the development of modern politics? If it is said that the profound political and cultural traditions inevitably deeply restrict the development of contemporary Chinese politics,the political development model of socialism with Chinese characteristics should undoubtedly draw nourishment from the royal politics of classical Confucianism.In fact,the emphasis on aesthetic education in modern and contemporary Chinese politics,the extensive use of music and education in political struggles and political movements,and even our persistent pursuit of a harmonious society,to a certain extent,may not be a manifestation of political ethics. |
