Narrative Research On Ma Yuan’s Novels

Ma Yuan,as a representative writer of avant-garde literature,for the first time turned the traditional story to form,which changed the narrative concept of contemporary literature and made the avant-garde literature move in a new direction.His obsession with technique is Ma Yuan’s further reflection on the meaning of existence.His writing mode has injected new vitality into the creation of novels in the new era,which has shifted from focusing on the content of novels to gorgeous narrative forms.This is the way that Ma Yuan absorbed the western narrative idea and explored according to his own literary view.Ma Yuan tried his best to expose the fiction,deconstruct the story,repeat the narrative in the process of narration,and elaborate narrative traps,all of which were nothing but to show his unique narrative ideas.With his exploration and contribution in the form of novels,he became an indelible member of pioneer literature.The narrative concept of Ma Yuan can be seen from the narrative theme,narrative time,narrative perspective and so on.Therefore,the author chooses narratology as the basis to reveal the narrative charm of Ma Yuan’s novels.This paper is mainly composed of five parts.The first part,introduction.This paper expounds the basis of topic selection,research significance,research status and research methods.In the middle and late1980 s,Ma Yuan chose to make a breakthrough in the form of novels by changing the traditional idea of focusing on the content of novels to the form of novels,which attracted extensive attention from critics.In the past 20 years,many achievements have been made in the research on the form and skills of Ma Yuan’s novels.Based on the previous study of Ma Yuan’s novels with narratology,this paper further explores the narrative skills of Ma Yuan in order to have a deeper understanding of Ma Yuan’s novels and its narrative art.The second part is the narrative theme of Ma Yuan’s novels.The theme writing of "Tibet",the repetition of the themes of "death" and "sex",and the inclusion of attractive themes to cover up the emptiness of the novel text caused by form manipulation,are also a narrative strategy of Ma Yuan.The third part is the narrative perspective in ma yuan’s novels.In the aspect of narrative perspective,it is mainly manifested in three aspects: the changeable transformation of narrative communication mode,the narrative mode highlighting self-consciousness and the changeable narrative person.Among them,the narrator,author,implied author and characters are intermingled in Ma Yuan’s novels.Theauthor randomly changes his identity to highlight the narration process,so that the reader’s attention shifts from the novel content to the narration itself.The self-prominent narrator image and the changeable personal narration are also the characteristics of Ma Yuan’s novels.Ma Yuan often narrates the novel out of the story,narrates the novel’s creation process from the perspective of the narrator,deconstructs the authenticity of the novel,and lets the readers know that fiction is the novel itself.The changeable personal narration,especially the use of the first person,is to strengthen the expression of Ma Yuan’s self-consciousness.Different personal narration adds color to the formalism of the novel.The fourth part is the narrative time in ma yuan’s novels.The narrative time of Ma Yuan’s novels is manifested in the disorder of time.In the novel,the use of reverse narration and prenarration,as well as the use of ellipsis and pause,breaks the continuity of traditional linear time and causes the chaos and fragmentation of time.Deliberately highlighting the arrangement of narrative time is also part of its "narrative trap".The fifth part,the narrative causes of Ma Yuan’s novels.Ma Yuan’s novel creation individuality has been very prominent,how did such narrative art form?The formation of Ma Yuan’s narrative view can not be simply attributed to one hand,but produced under the influence of multiple factors.He led the avant-garde is the product of the background of The Times,coupled with the westernization of the theory of self,and the obsession with form skills,to shape the narrative game expert Ma Yuan.In general,the narrative idea of Ma Yuan’s novels is embodied in various aspects.The prominent expression of narrative theme,the deliberate use of narrative time and the changeable application of narrative perspective all reflect Ma Yuan’s narrative idea of valuing form over content.Putting form at the top of the novel and playing with narrative means is the core idea of Ma Yuan’s novel creation,which is also the focus of Ma Yuan’s literary circles as a pioneer of pioneer literature.
