A Study On The Language Value Of Young People’s Languaee Variation

The research on adolescent language variation has always been limited to the scope of sociolinguistics,and has not been able to bring forth new ideas in terms of research vision and research theory.To this end,this article starts from the perspective of language economics,and uses Rossi-Landi’s language values as the theoretical basis to explore the language value of youth language variation.It is believed that the values of language(symbols)involved in the language variation of adolescents are not equal,and there are different trends of change.This further explores the concept of "total value of language(symbols)" and gives three criteria for judgment:use value,exchange value and communication value,which correspond to the language ability and language use of language users in sociolinguistics.The three elements of situation and language attitude.Combined with the particularity of language variation of adolescents,the adolescent group is defined as between 13 and 22 years old.It is divided into three sections according to social(campus)elements: junior high school students,high school students,and college students.Value-related analysis found that:(1)In the youth speech market,the overall value of Putonghua is higher than the dialect language value,and it is more affected by social factors,which can affect the results of youth language variation.(2)In different social domains(gender,age,language environment),language bears different linguistic values,and the change of linguistic value is also affected by various social factors.(3)As a special language variant,Internet buzzwords only have a high communication value in the internal market of the youth group.As the age of teenagers grows,the language value of this language variant may decline.This article is divided into five parts:The first chapter is the introduction.It analyzes the current research development progress from three aspects:research background,research status and deficiencies.Combining the advantages of interdisciplinary linguistic economics,the research content,significance and innovation of this paper are proposed,and finally the research of this paper is described The research methods adopted and the theoretical basis involved.The second chapter is the analysis of the theory of language value and the methodological description applied to empirical research.This part mainly analyzes the language values of Rossi-Landi,proposes the distinction between different forms of language value and the judgment standard of the total value.Combined with the characteristics of adolescent language variation,the methodology analysis of language value theory in empirical research is carried out.The third chapter is related to the investigation of youth language variation.This paper takes Chongqing youth as the research object and surveys the current language situation of the youth group in this area through questionnaire sampling,which provides data support for the analysis of language value in the subsequent youth language variation.The fourth chapter is the analysis part of the research survey results.In this part,based on the survey results of the current situation of Chongqing’s young people’s language,this paper analyzes the problems related to the language value of young people’s language variation.The fourth chapter is the analysis part of the research findings.This part is based on the results of the Chongqing Youth Language Status Survey,combined with language value theory to judge the value of different languages(variants)involved in youth language variation,and finally analyzes the influencing factors,causes and development trends of language value changes.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.It summarizes the research of this paper and puts forward the shortcomings of the research and the inspiration and suggestions for the future research.
