In recent years,group-text reading has gradually spread from the subject of Chinese to English,and its position in teaching has become increasingly prominent now.Group-text reading is a process in which teachers and students choose a group of articles around one or more topics,and then read and construct collectively around the topics,and finally they can reach a consensus.Combined with the dilemma of large class teaching in some areas,this paper analyzes the current situation of large class teaching,text combination,teaching strategies and class classification of group-text reading.At present,the text combination of group-text reading is mainly divided according to the theme meaning,text type,reading evaluation items and text mode.Previous studies have put forward several types of courses: basic knowledge courses,concept cognition courses,reading strategy courses,language practice courses and emotion quality courses,inquiry courses,training courses and reading and writing courses.In terms of teaching strategies,this paper mainly sorts out the teaching model of KWWLC which is proposed by Professor Yu Zeyuan and the teaching method of Six Hats which is proposed by Teacher Li Xingyong.The current situation of large class teaching is that there are some problems,such as difficult classroom management,formalized group cooperation,boring class,and teachers’ difficulty in caring for each student.Large class size teaching has always been a big problem facing English in central and western regions.On the macro level,the measures to reduce the number of large classes are being carried out in an orderly manner.On the micro level,we should have the spirit of "starting a mountain when you meet it" and have the courage to explore solutions,so as to realize the fairness of education.Under the Qualitative Approach and Quantitative Approach,this thesis comes up with a completed teaching method of English Group-text Reading in senior High School.By summarizing experience,reading related theses,this research aims to solve theproblem of what to teach and how to teach in English Group-text Reading of Senior high.At last,by analyzing experiment’s data and interviewing from two aspects: teacher and students,we can conclude that the teaching methods of English Group-text Reading is practical,efficient and good for the improvement of vocabulary accumulation and reading ability.The teaching method is divided into two parts.One of the parts is the preparation.Another part is the teaching arrangement in three stages.During the process from“detailed reading” to “extensive reading”,the way to combine texts is based on the reading topics of in-class articles.When students and teachers adapt Group-text Reading,the ways to combine texts are question to solution,hypothesis to proving,inducement to development,timetable and texts with homogeneous.To solve the problem of students’ organization under large class situation,this thesis comes up with the teamwork based on “Smart class” and double division under efficient class and the idea to cultivate students’ activeness.The teaching cases mentioned in this paper take place in Class 22,Grade 2018 of Guangyuan High School.Through the analysis of learning situation in this class,this paper puts forward “3R” method,“Parts reading” method and“E-reading” method for senior high school English Group-text reading,and gives corresponding teaching cases.The “3R” mode is an innovation in the “3P” mode of intensive reading course,namely the three stages of pre-reading,while-reading and post-reading.“Parts reading” is a teaching method based on Schema Theory and guide students to start from the original experience,growth and construction of new experience.“E-reading” is a teaching method combined with “E-classroom”.This new reading teaching method can strengthen students’ interest in English group-text reading,and also create a relaxing reading atmosphere and improve reading efficiency.
