With the prosperity of China’s film market and the continuous improvement of China’s international status, personalized and personalized expression has gradually become the trend of film creation.Because of the wide geographical characteristics of China,a large number of directors with different styles and unique narrative language have been born in China. This kind of richness highlighted in film art actually constitutes the "authorship" of Chinese film directors. In the 1990 s,with the deepening of China’s reform and opening up,China’s planned economy system transited to the market economy system.Under this background, the sixth generation of directors came into being in China.Among them, the film works directed by Jia Zhangke have distinctive characteristics, creating a situation of paying attention to the bottom society, following the pulse of the times and pouring humanistic care.Director Jia Zhangke is good at drawing out the plot from the source of culture and system, keeping a calm observation and fair criticism of the society, inheriting the spark of the fifth generation directors’ return to personalization. On this basis,he has formed a set of personalized narrative system which keeps pace with the times, which has greatly promoted the process of Chinese author’s films towards personalized expression. And the "authorship" that makes films move towards personalized expression needs to be traced back to the new wave of French films in the middle of the 20 th century. The paper is divided into five chapters, the first chapter focuses on the origin and meaning of the concept of "authorship";the second chapter further discusses the outstanding performance of "authorship" in China’s special context and the causes behind it;the third chapter, represented by Jia Zhangke’s films, discusses the cultural representation of "authorship" in contemporary China;the fourth chapter discusses from the perspective of multiple spaces“ Chapter 5 is the conclusion, which is the summary of this paper and the prospect of future research direction.
