The new woodcut movement advocated by Lu Xun spread rapidly across the country,and showed the power of the group in the form of associations,and from this,a new woodcut society emerged.After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan,the new woodcut community reached its peak,and a large number of woodcut groups appeared under the banner of the Anti-Japanese War.On June 12,1938,my country’s first national woodcut organization,the "China National Woodcut Association Against the Enemy" was established in Wuhan,leading woodcut workers to participate in the national revolution and the work of anti-Japanese and national salvation,and the anti-Japanese and national salvation woodcut movement Push to a new stage.However,the "All Wood Association"was established shortly after it was cancelled by the government in the name of an"illegal organization." Until January 1942,the "China Woodcut Research Association"replaced the "China National Woodcut Association Against the Enemy" was established in Chongqing,and the national woodcut organization was restored.As the main organization form of the anti-Japanese art and the main force of the anti-Japanese woodcut movement,the woodcut club actively organized various"anti-Japanese and national salvation" woodcut activities to publicize the anti-Japanese war.In the voice of the popularization of art,the association advocates that woodcarving workers use real life as the source of creation,adopt new realism techniques,and learn from traditional Chinese folk art forms,so that woodcuts in the War of Resistance meet the aesthetic demands of the people,and arouse the people’s patriotic passion for resistance and salvation,Made a great contribution to the anti-Japanese propaganda.At the same time,it actively explored issues such as national forms,promoted the"sinicization" of woodcut art,formed a nationalized art style with unique Chinese characteristics,led the development of China’s emerging woodcuts,and laid the foundation for the creation of prints after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.This article mainly studies the national woodcut society during the all-out war of resistance from 1937 to 1945,namely the "China National Woodcut Association" and later the "China Woodcut Research Association".The thesis consists of three parts:introduction,main text,and conclusion.The main text is divided into three chapters:Chapter 1 mainly discusses the woodcut associations in China before the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japan,as well as the background and history of the establishment of these two national woodcut associations,with emphasis on national woodcutting The woodcut activities carried out by the association during the Anti-Japanese War.The second chapter analyzes the direction and pursuit of woodcut creation under the leadership of national organizations,and explores the role of China’s emerging woodcut national forms in advocating art popularization and nationalization,and then promotes the "sinicization" of emerging woodcut creation The process embodies the revolutionary,combative and zeitgeist unique to the wartime woodcut community.The third chapter discusses the historical achievements and significance of the national woodcut society. |
