Research On Yu Zhiding’s Painting Art

The master of this study,Yu Zhiding,was a court painter in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty.This paper uses case analysis,literature analysis,image research method,logical argumentation method to study the painting art of Yu Zhiding,such as portrait,landscape,ladies.Through the study of Yu Zhiding’s existing painting art,this paper is summarized into three chapters.Chapter 1:The first chapter chiefly clarifies the intersection with scholars of Yu Zhiding in the Yangzhou and Beijing period according to the chronological order,and then infers to the inner relationship between these two periods by researching on such intersection,as well as the diplomacy to Ryukyu Kingdom.In this paper,Yu Zhiding visited Ryukyu with envoys.From the perspective of painting history,it reflects the exchanges between the Kingdom of Ryukyu and the Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty,and to a certain extent,it shows the national strength of the Qing Dynasty and the cultural influence of Chinese civilization on surrounding countries.Chapter two:The author classifies the existing painting of Yu zhiding into three categories.The first is the portrait painting for the request of the scholars in the early Qing Dynasty.The author has listed several notable literary friends such as Wang Shizhen,Wang Hui,Wang Yuanqi,Nala Rongruo,and Zhu Yizun for the reason that artistic intersection with them.The paper mainly studies the typical paintings created by Yu during their interaction,and the rest of the literary scholars are briefly mentioned.The second type is the copies of Song and Yuan masterpieces by artist for strengthening the painting skill.The author classified the famous paintings copied by Yu Zhiding.The third category is to consolidate the friendship and art cooperation with scholars.Through painting creation,it further sorts out Yu Zhiding’s painting type,Artistic style and creative ideal.These kinds of paintings also clearly make Yu Zhiding’s road to official career,and help to lead to the third chapter’s thinking on Yu Zhiding’s painting creation.Chapter Three:Through the research of this paper,we can think about Yu Zhiding’s painting creation.This paper studies the creative spirit of Yu Zhiding and analyzes the effect of his painting art on the values of contemporary society.Yu Zhiding’s painting art came into being during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty when Eastern and Western art collided with each other.While Western art had gradually blended into Chinese painting Yu Zhiding learnt from tang and song dynasty yuan masters art essence of art,both keep the traditional Chinese painting style and compatible with the western art characteristic,finally forms the unique painting art,provides precious visual materials for the later research on Qing dynasty painting,and make a tremendous contribution to the early Qing Dynasty painting.
