Research On The Backwash Effect Of The Inappropriate Wording Questions From New HSK6

With the improvement of China’s international status,there are more and more learners taking part in the New HSK 6.However,the inappropriate wording questions in this test are always the part of the major problems troubling many candidates.Therefore,this paper took the inappropriate wording questions,which are from the New HSK Level 6,as the main object,researched their backwash effect by analyzing the past New HSK 6 paper,different candidates and their answers,came up with some effective teaching suggestions and strategies,in order to promote the teaching and help the candidates prepare the test.The main content of this paper includes five parts:the analysis of the inappropriate wording questions from the past paper of New HSK 6,the design of the inappropriate wording questions survey,the analysis of the first questionnaire,the suggestions as well as strategies of the inappropriate wording questions,and the verification by the second questionnaire.For the analysis of the inappropriate wording questions from the past paper of New HSK 6,this paper did a multiple analysis,and found the questions only have one single form,are with high difficulty,have a variety of types with different proportions and so on.In order to fully understand the candidates,and the influence on the learning ability of inappropriate wording questions from some demographic variables,such as gender,age,language background,the time of learning Chinese and the method of preparing the test,this paper designed a survey,introduced and analyzed the background of it as well as the information about two planned questionnaires.For the analysis of the first inappropriate wording questionnaire,this paper used the method of data analysis,trying to find the characteristics of the candidates’ basic information,abilities of answering the questions,and the influencing factors.It was found that the correct rate of the candidates who are mainly young learners is low,and the way they use to prepare has a great influence on their answers.According to the above analysis,this paper made some recommendations,such as paying attention to the similar words and grammar,doing more practice by using the past exam paper and so on.Besides,this paper also listed some answering strategies.For example,analyzing by dividing the sentence structures,logic judgment and attaching great importance to the common vocabularies.After this,this paper also implemented the relevant teaching plan,used the second questionnaire test and data analysis to find that these suggestions can beneficial impact on the candidates,are worthy of reference.Finally,this paper summed up the key conclusions,the highlights and the shortcomings of this paper,hope they can continue to be improved in the future research.
