| The primary school stage is the enlightenment stage of human physical and mental development. To ensure the physical and mental health of children is vital to human life in this stage.Externalizing problem is one of the influential factors that hinder the physical and mental development of children. In the past, there are relatively few studies on the externalizing problems of rural children. This research intends to explore the impact of rural children’s peer relationship on externalizing problems and possible mediating mechanisms of emotions from the perspective of ecosystem theory. Then we hope to conduct educational practices according to this research. This study used the "Positive and Negative Emotion Scale for Children","Peer Relationship Questionnaire" and "Achenbach Adolescent Self-Rating Scale" to conduct a questionnaire survey of 350 primary school students in two rural areas in Hefei. We tried to grasp the state of the peer relationship, emotions and externalizing problems in rural children. In addition,we want to explore the relationship between peer relationships and externalizing problems and whether emotions have a mediating role in this relationship. We hope this research can provide empirical evidence for guiding rural children’s mental health development. The results are as follows:1)There is a significantly negative correlation between grades and externalizing problems. This means that as the grade continues to grow, the externalizing problems of children become more serious. There is no significant correlation between age, gender and school for externalizing problems2)There is a correlation between peer relationship and emotion, and externalizing problems are strongly influenced by peer relationship. In the relationship between emotions and externalizing problems, positive emotions can’t have an impact on externalizing problems, while negative emotions have a positive correlation with externalizing problems3)Emotions partially mediate the relationship between peer relationships and externalizing problems.Specifically:Positive emotions don’t play a partial mediating role in the relationship between peer relationships and externalizing problems.Negative emotions play a partial mediating role between peer relationships and externalizing problems. |
