Zhao Shuli is a special style writer with great significance in the history of Chinese new literature.This paper puts forward the view of "Zhao Shuli’s tradition" in the historical perspective of new literature.It is intended to try to change the angle and thinking,and investigate the specific situation of Zhao Shuli’s literary creation’s context inheritance and continuation,as well as his unique aesthetic personality and literary history value.This paper holds that Zhao Shuli,a famous writer in the liberated areas,whose literary creation is due to coincidence,is the development and transformation of tradition.One is Zhao Shuli’s inherent inheritance of the enlightenment spirit of the May 4th new literature.In a word,Zhao Shuli’s innovative stand against the old culture,old morality and old system,his face to the reality,and his concern for people,especially the common people,constitute the fundamental motivation and spiritual core of his literary creation.In Zhao Shuli’s eyes,the object of enlightenment and salvation in the May 4th literature became the examination of the old ideas and systems of the new society under the background of the new revolutionary regime,and the Enlightenment of the ignorant peasants,the tyrant landlords and the greedy cadres.Second,another source of "Zhao Shuli tradition" is the tradition of folk literature.In the complex context of the turn of the times in the 1940 s and 1950 s,Zhao Shuli,based on the folk standpoint and drawing lessons from folk art,naturally combined his creative style with the direction of the mass literature of workers,peasants and soldiers advocated by Mao Zedong’s speech at the Yan’an Literature and Art Forum.Nevertheless,Zhao Shuli’s writing attitude towards rural farmers is different from Lu Xun’s critical vision and Shen Congwen’s appreciation aesthetic perspective.He takes the road of a responsible land narrator’s direct vision.Because of this,while inheriting the tendency of "problem novels" in the period of the May 4th movement,Zhao Shuli made a new interpretation and development of "problem novels" in the field of subject matter,and created a large number of vivid images of "middle characters" and "backward characters" of farmers.In a word,Zhao Shuli’s tradition in the new literature field of vision is actually a realistic folk literature tradition based on humanism.This is a tradition that has never been interrupted.It still has obvious echo and echo in the contemporary novels about agriculture,rural areas and farmers.The first chapter of this paper mainly investigates and analyzes the ideological value pedigree of Zhao Shuli’s literary creation.Zhao Shuli’s creation is rooted in the folk land with earthy novel creation,he inherited and carried forward the May 4th literature tradition in his own way.Starting from the external environment and endogenous emotional mechanism,this chapter interprets Zhao Shuli’s creative persistence of "happy" writing for farmers based on his own experience,and analyzes the role of folk literature and art in shaping Zhao Shuli’s personality structure.There is no doubt that Zhao Shuli’s realistic concern for people(brothers of farmers)and his imagination of new social reality reflect his adherence to the realism with enlightenment as the value orientation.The second chapter mainly discusses the content and theme of Zhao Shuli’s literary creation,and analyzes how Zhao Shuli’s literary creation is integrated with the micro under the macro.Zhao Shuli’s problem consciousness makes him always close to the problems that farmers encounter in reality,putting people in the daily trifles and social contradictions,creating a real and vivid image of the characters.This chapter also further discusses the deep problems behind the superficial "problem consciousness".The third chapter is mainly from the style of Zhao Shuli’s works to examine Zhao Shuli’s otherness.The light comedy style of Yizhuang and banter adds vivid color to Zhao Shuli’s novels.This chapter analyzes and summarizes Zhao Shuli’s narrative personality from the perspective of the origin and style,the humorous peasant language and the form of drama.The fourth chapter mainly explains and analyzes the contemporary significance of "Zhao Shuli tradition".The author tries to put Zhao Shuli’s creation in the contemporary novel series with the theme of "agriculture,rural areas and farmers",so as to observe the new changes of the current rural farmers’ novel creation.Among the writers in the southeast of Shanxi Province,GE’s creative standpoint is undoubtedly in the same strain as Zhao Shuli’s.It is also a topic worthy of discussion for Shanxi writers how to go further from a corner of Shanxi in the field of local writing.In reality,the theme of poverty alleviation in the novels about agriculture,rural areas and farmers is the theme creation in the new era.In this sense,Zhao Shuli’s tradition may have new reference significance.In a word,the inherent meaning of "Zhao Shuli tradition" is worth us to re comb the complex forms of literary development,review and reflect in different times,and hope for the future,and constantly deepen the dialogue with the new literary tradition,so as to promote and enrich the development of literary forms.
