This report is based on the voice clips of author’s experience as an interpreter of Training Course on Beekeeping and Honey Processing Technology for Gambia,2019.The training course has been held by Hunan Agricultural Group Co.,Ltd,providing beekeeping and honey processing training for 43 participants from the Republic of The Gambia.The author did consecutive interpreting without note-taking during classes,beekeeping practices and visits.When replaying recorded voice clips,the author has realized that memory errors have been common.Therefore,the author takes 6 hours of Chinese-English consecutive interpreting voice clips as raw materials,analyzing memory errors and dividing them into three types:omission,intrusion and blocking.According to the statistics,the number of all memory errors is 24,9 for omission,6 for intrusion and 9 for blocking.Based on Gile’s Interpretation Effort Model and Baddeley’s Working Memory Model,the author analyzes 15 memory error cases,exploring the reasons behind and making brief summaries.The memory errors are mainly caused by deficient beekeeping knowledge,unfamiliar beekeeping terminologies,limited working memory capacity and bad interpreting habits.Then the author brings up targeted improvement strategies,including improving working memory capacity and cultivating good interpreting habits,so as to reduce memory errors.In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies,the author has also reinterpreted part of voice clips,making 43 trainees rerate the interpreting quality.The result indicates the improvement strategy is effective.
