This paper takes the series of oil paintings "Pastoral in the North" as the theme and chooses "Pastoral in the North" as the theme.Its purpose is to show the personal love of hometown and spiritual yearning to return to nature through the creation of this series,and show the emotional artistic conception of northern region and cultural characteristics.In the process of learning and practice of landscape oil painting,through the author’s continuous understanding and understanding of the northern region,the unique "image" gradually clear,produce a strong creative desire,the creative desire,make the author consciously seek the fit between natural image and oil painting expression language,strive to create a completely personal oil painting personality expression language,and can make the author fully express the personal feelings for natural image.This paper first takes the research background of the topic as the starting point,comprehensively sorts out the landscape oil painting and the theme background of the creation,and clearly puts forward the main research content,methods and significance of the oil painting series in the North.Secondly,the natural environmental characteristics and cultural characteristics of the northern region and the related paintings and documents were studied and analyzed.Several stages in the practice of landscape painting of the North are systematically summarized.The countryside of the north series landscape painting creation,is to the natural landscape of the northern countryside as the material,the modern northern region as the medium of personal emotional expression,trying to through oil painting language expression of the author of nature,life and thinking on art,in order to lay the foundation for the subsequent development of personal art creation in the future.
