Research On Synonyms In New Words

With the development of society,new words continue to emerge.The emergence of new words will input fresh blood into the synonym system of Chinese vocabulary,trigger the continuous adjustment and change of the internal relations of synonyms,and affect the inherent vocabulary system of Chinese.This article takes the synonyms in the new words that appeared in the sixth edition of the "Modern Chinese Dictionary" as the research object.By searching the "People’s Daily Database"(1946-2020),the difference in the use frequency of 961 sets of synonyms is investigated,and the influence on the use frequency of synonyms is summarized.It summarizes some rules of synonymous word competition,and finally analyzes the influence of synonym competition on word meaning.After comprehensive statistics and analysis of the synonyms in the new words in the sixth edition of "Modern Chinese Dictionary",we found that there are differences in the frequency of use of synonyms.The factors affecting the frequency of synonym use include both internal factors and external factors.The internal influencing factors mainly include: morpheme formation,word meaning,word syllable and word motivation.The word formation morphemes with high frequency of use have wide meaning,strong productivity,and high semantic relevance between the formation morphemes and words;they have stronger plasticity and richer emotional color in the meaning of words;the number of syllables of the words accords The economic principle of language does not damage the meaning of words;the rationale of words is easier to understand.The external influencing factors mainly include: the storage and retrieval methods of synonyms in psychological dictionaries,the guidance of online media on the use of words,and the influence of social psychology on the choice of synonyms.The factor that affects the frequency of synonym use is often not a single factor,but the result of a combination of internal and external factors.The competition of synonyms will lead to the addition of new meanings to words,the deviation of word meanings,the differentiation of word meanings,the merger of word meanings and the generalization of word meanings.
