Research On Implied Meaning Of Flower Elements In The Creation Of Chinese Paintings With Festival Themes

This paper discusses the analysis,research and practical exploration process of flower elements in the creation of festive theme Chinese painting.Firstly,the implication of flower elements in traditional and modern Chinese paintings is sorted out and summarized.The implication of flowers comes from the primitive society.The primitive people painted flowers on the practical utensils as a totem.Yan Feng’s master’s thesis "A Study on the Meaning of Flowers in the Book of Songs>" of Northwest Normal University divided the meaning of flowers in the Book of Songs into the figurative appearance of women,the expression of affection between men and women,and the affection between parents and brothers.The appearance of flowers in the murals in the tomb chamber of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the discovery of pottery figurines offering food in the Eastern Han Dynasty prove that the meaning of flowers has been used in art works.In this paper,the author collected more than a hundred representative Chinese paintings with flowers as the element from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,sorted and summarized them,and classified them into the following categories:flowers with metaphors of wealth and honour,flowers with metaphors of noble morality,flowers with metaphors of indifferent to fame and wealth,and flowers with metaphors of selfless dedication.In this chapter,the spiritual connotation of traditional flower elements is introduced.The plum blossom,orchid,bamboo,chrysanthemum,lotus and peony are endowed with spiritual connotation.In addition,the simultaneous appearance of plum blossom,dahlia,camellia,orchid and daffodil in a picture has a new meaning.There are many forms of traditional flowers,two of which are discussed in this paper.First,using the homophonic of the name of flowers to express the implication.Second,the use of flowers their own characteristics to express the meaning.In the modern flower theme of Chinese painting works,the flower elements have a new meaning,and the elements in the works tend to be more life-oriented.Flowers can not only express noble sentiment,but also walk into people’s real life.According to the study,the ancient flower paintings implied the pursuit of lofty and free from vulgarity,while modern people tend to have popular and WTO thoughts.Secondly,the form and implication of traditional and modern festival themed flower works are analyzed and studied.Traditional festival-themed works are mainly included in the festival-themed works,which are a branch of the festival-themed works under the festival-themed works.The earliest extant festival-themed works is Zhao Chang’s Song Dynasty Map.In the Flower Classic by Zhang Ling in the Song Dynasty,flowers were arranged according to the nine qualities and nine lives.Noble flowers were used in festive themed Chinese paintings to express auspicious connotations.Festival-themed Chinese painting with flowers as the element is often composed of foreground,middle scene and distant view,and multiple lines are used to make the images vivid.Lines of different forms weave notes with rhythm and rhythm on the picture.The colors of the works are mainly fresh and gorgeous,echoing before and after,highlighting the festive atmosphere.The festival-themed flower works of Qi Baishi and Pan Tianshou represent the aesthetic orientation and expression way of modern festival-themed flower creation.Qi Baishi’s works incorporate elements such as lanterns,firecrackers,salted eggs,peonies and red plums to express more secular feelings and give people a warm feeling.Pan Tianshou’s works have a strict composition,the pursuit of visual form,with red lanterns and other elements,with the flavor of The Times.Finally,the author elaborated on the flower elements in the festival theme of Chinese painting creation,the meaning of the process of exploration and practice.The creation selects the traditional festival theme and the modern festival theme to be integrated.Among them,the traditional festivals are the Mid-Autumn Festival,Dragon Boat Festival,Tanabata Festival,and the modern festival is Children’s Day.On the basis of inheriting the tradition,this creation integrates the implication of modern festival flowers elements and uses new materials and new forms to express.Through research and practice,we finally get the implication expression of flower elements,which should conform to the needs of modern festival theme Chinese painting creation and continue to enrich and develop.
