Research On Hong Shen’s Drama Theory

Hong Shen is an outstanding drama activist in the history of modern Chinese literature.His appearance in the history of modern Chinese drama has epoch-making significance.He is a playwright,director,and critic of drama theory,and has made great contributions to the development of modern Chinese drama.However,there are still weaknesses in the academic research on Hong Shen’s drama theory,so his drama theory is extremely researched value.Based on the comprehensive collection and sorting of Hong Shen’s drama creations and drama theory writings,the author uses the research methods of close reading of the text and knowledge of the world,and conducts a comprehensive and systematic study of Hong Shen’s drama theory in connection with the specific social background.The first chapter discusses the main content of Hong Shen’s drama theory.Hong Shen formed his realistic view of drama out of thinking about the nationality of modern Chinese drama.Therefore,his drama creation and theoretical construction all his life have the characteristics of realism.In drama creation,Hong Shen broke the traditional drama concept that emphasized drama plots and proposed a drama theory centered on shaping “faithful models”.This move was a breakthrough in traditional Chinese drama theory.In the choice of drama structure,Hong Shen pursues a free drama structure,always taking the purpose of drama to reflect real life as a reference.In terms of drama language,Hong Shen also has very high standards and requirements.In addition,in stage practice,Hong Shen emphasizes that the core of theatrical performance is “seeking truth”.In this regard,Hong Shen puts forward strict requirements on theatrical actors.As the director of the theater art coordinating center,his function has gradually and finally been established.The second chapter discusses the background of the formation of Hong Shen’s drama theory.This paper analyzes the formation reasons of Hong Shen’s drama theory from four aspects: the experience of Hong Shen’s life,the background of enlightenment and salvation,the influence of traditional chinese culture and western drama,and points out that the formation of Hong Shen’s theory of drama is the result of the combination of various factors.The third chapter discusses the enlightenment of Hong Shen’s drama theory to contemporary drama creation.In the current drama creation,first of all,we must adhere to the creative principle of realism,only in this way can we maintain the social significance and artistic value of drama works.Then,drama creation must be rooted in the soil of the real life of the nation and cultivated carefully.Finally,if a drama wants to have social value and significance,it must take into account the audience’s knowledge and requirements in the creation process,and modify and perfect the drama in combination with the audience’s suggestions.
