The cultivation of talents in Chinese colleges and universities should adheres to the basic principle of establishing moral integrity in cultivation,educate college students with culture and ethics and comprehensively improve their ideological and moral quality and cultural literacy.Carrying out discipline moral education is an effective way to realize the integration of teaching and educating students and cultivate high-quality professionals with both morality and talent.English is a special discipline.English majors will be exposed to western ideas and cultures in the process of learning.It is necessary to strengthen the ideological and moral education of English majors in the collision and conflict between different cultures in English learning.At present,English discipline moral education is seriously absent in colleges and universities.In order to implement moral education in English teaching,English teachers need to explore the contents and value of moral education in English,combine knowledge teaching with value guidance,and achieve the goal of moral and intellectual education in the teaching process.The textbook is the main basis for teachers to carry out their teaching,so the thesis takes A New English Course(Third Edition,Volume1-4)as the entry point and the research object,and explore how to cultivate English majors’ fine moral conduct while teachers teach them knowledge based on this set of the teaching materials,so as to enhance the operability of moral education in English teaching.Only when teachers explore and make full use of the moral factors in teaching materials and construct the connection between the knowledge and moral contents,can they carry out reasonable moral education infiltration in the process of English teaching.Therefore,the thesis adopts textual analysis to systematically comb,count and analyze the moral materials contained in A New English Course(Third Edition,Volume 1-4)and the specific moral contents embodied in the moral materials from the four dimensions of social morals,individual morals,family virtues and professional ethics.The thesis not only combs the moral contents presented in the teaching materials directly,but also excavates the moral contents hidden in them.Based on the existing problems of moral education in teaching for English majors,the thesis puts forward some practical suggestions on the implementation of moral education in A New English Course(Third Edition,Volume 1-4)from the perspective of teachers themselves and the teaching process,hoping to provide some references for the moral education in English teaching in colleges and universities.
