Application Of Black And White Woodcut Language In Art Design

As a traditional art category with a long history in China,black and white woodcut has been inherited and innovated by countless excellent craftsmen in the long history,and it still exudes charming luster.But with the increase of art types and the diversity of art forms,graphic design,digital animation,VR art,sound and light art and other eye-catching emerging art occupy the mainstream market of art.In contrast,many traditional arts gradually fade out of people’s vision because they no longer meet the aesthetic needs of modern people-even black and white woodcut prints.Today,with more and more new art forms,the simple color and simple form of black-and-white woodcut is no longer attracting people’s attention.As a result,the integration with new art forms is not enough,and even gradually withdraw from the mainstream art stage.In the public cognition,it is far less valuable than traditional Chinese painting,sculpture,oil painting,photography and other art categories,and even is still in the "unknown" stage In the blind area of cognition.In order to improve the public’s cognition and understanding of the art of black-and-white woodcut and reappear the glorious era of black-and-white woodcut,it is necessary to unify the artistry and social function of black-and-white woodcut,so that it can perfectly integrate the current art form and enter the public life.Black and white woodcut is a kind of two-dimensional space art,which can be matched by many new art forms of two-dimensional space,such as static form of graphic design art and dynamic form of animation art.Animation design covers almost all the dynamic images that people can touch in their daily life,while graphic design art is closely related to the design of practical goods based on different materials,such as packaging,books,posters,commercial logos,etc.If black and white woodcut can be integrated into graphic design art and animation art,its value can be perfectly reproduced through the new art form.This paper analyzes the integration of black-and-white woodcut and new art by deconstructing the art form language of black-and-white woodcut,such as knife,color and impression.Then,through the successful cases of the integration of black-and-white woodcut and static and dynamic visual art,this paper demonstrates the feasibility and advantages of the application of black-and-white woodcut art language in the field of graphic design and animation design,and probes into the practical significance of the integration black-and-white woodcut and graphic design,animation and other emerging art forms.Finally,the author analyzes the reasons why black-and-white woodcut is in the state of "little known",and puts forward more ways to promote black-and-white woodcut,such as school aesthetic education.Strengthening the popularization of black-and-white woodcut in school aesthetic education can not only enhance people’s understanding of black-and-white woodcut,but also help enrich the team of black-and-white woodcut practitioners.
