A Study On Transgender Story In Zhiguai And Chuanqi Novel

The study of Zhiguai and Chuanqi novel is an important field in the study of ancient novels,and fruitful results have been achieved over the years.However,there is still space for research on transgender stories.Although the overall number of transgender stories in Zhiguai and Chuanqi novels is not too large,they reflect the changes in gender consciousness in the novels,which can provide evidence for gender studies in ancient novels.On the other hand,From the perspective of gender transformation,a unique view of life is formed,which can bring useful supplements to the study of life consciousness in ancient novels.This paper studies 54 transgender stories in Zhiguai and Chuanqi novel,starting from two different story types,co-generation transgender stories and reincarnation transgender stories,combining social ideology and the evolution of transgender stories,and examining them through comparative analysis and induction.Also,this paper examines the spiritual and cultural connotation,especially the analysis of gender consciousness and life consciousness embodied in transgender stories.This paper expands the discussion from four parts:The introduction first summarizes the relevant research in the academic circle.Secondly,On the basis of previous research results,this article puts forward the connotation and extension of transgender stories in Zhiguai and Chuanqi novels,and clarifies the research scope of this article.There are physical,psychological,and social identity differences in gender identification.Based on the ancient Chinese gender concept and the plot setting of the transgender story,this paper defines transgender as the phenomenon that the character’s biological sex changes rather than damages,and studies the story of the character’s biological sex change in the Zhiguai and Chuanqi novels.Through a systematic review of Zhiguai and Chuanqi novels,it is pointed out that there are a total of 54 novels with transgender stories,and the specific statistics of the gender distribution and era distribution of the stories are made.The first chapter is the study of the implication of the co-generation transgender story,which is divided into two types of stories for discussion.There have been changes in attitudes towards female-to-male transformation.This type of story was given the social significance of punishing the ruler in ancient times,but the meaning has been divided in the process of dissemination.From the perspective of governing people,some writers interpret the phenomenon of female-to-male as a reminder,while other writers endow this phenomenon with the responsibility of inheriting from the perspective of family.The story of the male-to-female is shown as a consistent negative attitude,always viewing becoming a female as a symbol of catastrophe or a last resort.The second chapter is an analysis of the connotation of the reincarnation transgender stories.Transgender stories that join the reincarnation plot show two forms.On the one hand,the plot of karma enriches the content of transgender stories,and makes transgender stories have the role of exhortation and interpretation,but at the same time it also continues the judgment of the pros and cons of gender,and the thought of retribution links gender with moral superiority and solidifies gender awareness.On the other hand,transgender stories absorb the thought of reincarnation and show a tendency to transcend reincarnation and seek unique imprints of life.The specific manifestation is to establish a connection between past and present lives through unchanging interpersonal relationships,and to pay attention to individual emotions and memories.The third chapter interprets the transgender story from the perspective of life consciousness.Life consciousness is first embodied in the importance of life itself The ability of transgender individuals to continue to live is the embodiment of the desire to survive,and the choice of transgender in pursuit of a better life is the awakening of health consciousness.In addition,life consciousness is also expressed as the desire to continue life:from the perspective of the material world,the important task of inheriting in the female-to-male story is the exploration of life inheritance;from the perspective of the spiritual world,the continuation of memory and interpersonal relationship in the reincarnation transgender story is also a manifestation of prolonging life and connecting life.The care of life consciousness in the transgender story reflects the tenacity of the people’s will to survive.
