The Cultural Perspectives On The Images Of Talented Prostitutes In The Novels Of Ming And Qing Dynasties

Due to the special status in history and literary works,the culture of talented prostitutes has always been the research object of many scholars and there are many researches on the talented prostitutes themselves.The definition and cultural connotation of talented prostitutes have changed along with times.However,there are few researches on the extensions of the group image of talented prostitutes in academia,especially from the perspective of the changes of the image of talented prostitutes,that is,from the perspective of the changes of the attitudes of the literati to talented prostitutes in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The related research results are scattered and lack of systematic discussion.Thus this paper chooses the typical prostitute novels in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and observes how the tradition of gratitude replaced by the business logic,and explores the change of the whole social cultural psychology,and then discusses the transformation of social ethics value system and the direction of modernity from the changes of the relationship between prostitutes and their clients.The paper is divided into four parts.The introduction mainly summarizes the research object and research significance,the overview of relevant research results at home and abroad,as well as the research ideas and methods.The first chapter analyzes the image of talented prostitutes from the historical perspective.This chapter traces the historical origin of the image of talented prostitutes in the novel,and then analyzes the characteristics of the group of talented prostitutes from the perspective of other people--the talented women group and the common prostitutes group in the south of the Yangtze River in Ming and Qing Dynasties,and finally analyzes what kind of literati’s ideal talented prostitutes,as a symbol of cultural implication,places in the novels of talented prostitutes.The second chapter,from the perspective of traditional culture,carries on the cultural perspective to the image of talented prostitutes in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.By summarizing the attitudes of the representative texts in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.,this paper explores how the talent,as cultural capital,is transformed into economic capital.Combined with the social reform,the paper analyzes the change of talent,that is,the transformation from poetic talent to patriotic talent,and how the old-style talent is transformed under a new political requirement.In the third chapter,under the business ethics system of the late Qing Dynasty,the image of the new famous prostitutes in the novels of the late Qing Dynasty is analyzed.Combined with the historical background of Shanghai opening of its port,in the eyes of modern literati and under such a new system of business ethics,this paper analyzes how traditional talent becomes ridiculous and out of place,and is replaced by new and novel interests,and how the original pattern of gratitude is replaced by the business model,and then explores the social cultural psychology reflected by the new aesthetic interest and the refraction of social ethical values.
