A Report On The Simulated Consecutive Interpreting From The Interpretive Theory ——Taking Knowing The Enemy And Yourself,Minding The World As An Example

As Chinese economy has huge impact on the world increasingly,China gets ready to open the financial market so as to expand its market.This policy has also received the attention from the rest of the world,and the relevant speeches of Chinese economists give insight into Chinese finance.Therefore,the interpreter needs to keep up this trend to present the real Chinese economy to other countries.The interpreter consecutively interpreted Professor Chen Ping’s speech entitled“Knowing the enemy and yourself,minding the world” during the Guan Shiping year-end show,which elaborated on the opportunities and challenges of opening up the financial market,and told the audience how to deal with these challenges.This report recorded the preparation of interpreting,interpreting process,post-task control.In interpreting,a large number of culture-loaded words and finance and energy terms were involved in the speech,and the sentence patterns are relatively complex.Hence,the interpreter chose to Interpretive Theory as the theoretical guide.Under the guidance of this theory,the interpreter applied four interpreting strategies to analyze examples: free interpreting,interpretive information addition,discourse interpreting combined with logical analysis,and transformation of sentence structure.By doing so,the ability of interpreting can be improved and Professor Chen Ping’s views can be expressed accurately.The interpreter hopes that this report can provide some reference,and also it can give some help for interpreters who love and engage in relevant work.
