As the manifestation of games in the second media era,electronic games are called the Ninth Art after the film art,and also becomes an important topic of contemporary aesthetic research.However,there are many kinds of electronic games,not all the game works can be called Art.As a perfect combination of narrative and interaction in electronic games,the Computer Role-Playing game(hereinafter referred to as CRPG),has both the artistic characteristics of literature,film and drama,and the interaction of electronic media.Through the Role-playing and complex narrative arrangement,the player can be transformed into a role in the game story,and experience different life in the fantastic cyberspace,and obtain a new way of existence and emotional experience.Therefore,this paper takes CRPG as the research object,takes the role play and narrative as the main line to explore the unique aesthetic characteristics and aesthetic experience of CRPG.This paper has four parts.The first part mainly explains the significance of this paper,the theoretical literature on the aesthetic research of CRPG,and the research methods and innovation points of this paper.The first chapter of the text is “CRPG and the game theory in the history of aesthetics”,mainly talks about the definition of CRPG and the theory of game in the history of aesthetics.Chapter two of the text,“aesthetic characteristics of CRPG”,it is the core of this paper.In the first section “CRPG and the Pole-Play”,the author discussed the double self of the player in CRPG and the dual identity of the story role by using the drama theory.In the second section “CRPG and narration”,the author focuses on the analysis mode and narrative characteristics of CRPG by using narrative theory.Chapter three “aesthetic experience of CRPG” in the main body focuses on the experience that the player obtains in CRPG is discussed,and the immersive experience,peak experience and reflection under moral dilemma obtained by the players through role play and history participation are discussed.
