A Study On The Usage Of Time Adverbs In Positive And Negative Sentences

Based on the axioms of affirmation and negation in natural language,we divide time adverbs into four categories from the perspective of "quantity" : time quantity,continuity quantity,frequency quantity and repetition quantity.From positive and negative selection of structure,negative mark "no" "not" use and no mark position in the other three aspects of the four types of time adverbs in the affirmation and negation usage of balance and imbalance in the sorted out,in turn,by comparing the methods try to summarize the time adverbs in positive and negative sentences in common usage of balance and imbalance.We found that most of time adverbs is not in conformity with the natural language of the positive and negative right,regardless of semantic level is high or low,mostly can be used for certain structure,part can also be used for negative structures at the same time,most of these can be used in the negative of the structure of the time adverb can respectively and negative mark "no","not" co-occurrence of current order,Most of them are "time adverbs + negative markers + predicates".In addition,the balance and imbalance of these four types of time adverbs also have some personality characteristics,such as the proportion of balance and imbalance of each type of time adverbs is different.The balance of some time adverbs is conditional,which mainly requires the sentence to be in the form of redundant negative or complex sentence.For those adverbs of time which show a balance in the position of the negative mark,most of the predicates in the sentence change with the change of the position of the negative mark.All of the time adverbs that can be matched with the negative marks "no" and "no" respectively tend to use "no" in the specific use,so it can be seen that the balance phenomenon on the surface of these time adverbs shows some imbalance.We also summarize the reasons why time adverbs show balance and imbalance in positive and negative sentences from three aspects: predicate,time adverbs themselves and sentence structure.The main reason of predicate is the difference between quantitative and non-quantitative,continuous and discrete.In terms of time adverbs themselves,two groups of different semantic features,perfect and incomplete,descriptive and declarative,also have some influence.In terms of sentence structure,there are four main reasons: the consistency of positive context or negative context,the difference between declarative sentence and interrogative sentence,the influence of the constant order of the co-occurrence of multiple adverbs,and the semantic conflict caused by negative focus.
