A Translation Report On Planning And Design Of Sankou Park In Jiaoling,Meizhou City

With the wide spread of the idea of ecological protection among the international community,the Chinese government not only focuses on ensuring the quality of economic construction in China’s urban construction,but also pays more attention to the planning and design of residential parks in line with the requirements of ecological protection,so as to promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.This report discusses the planning and design of Sankou Park in Jiaoling City,Meizhou City.Guided by the principles of fidelity,coherence and purpose of Skopos Theory,this thesis analyzes the translator’s whole translation process and some translation cases,thus focuses on the methods of foreignization and domestication that translators can use when translating landscape design texts,as well as the translation skills such as literal translation,paraphrase,free translation,omissions and additions that translators can adopt under the guidance of the two methods.The report is mainly divided into five parts,including introduction to the whole report,brief introduction to translation tasks,introduction to translation process,analysis of translation cases and summary of translation experience.It mainly discusses the translation tools and practical skills that translators can use in the process of comprehension,expression and adaptation of translation.At the same time,based on case analysis,it discusses how to use these translation tools reasonably,so as to develop translation skills of serial searching and repeated verification.Moreover,it analyzes how to apply specific translation skills on the basis of following the corresponding principles,and summarizes the experience and lessons learned in this translation practice,so as to provide some referential experience and practical knowledge for fellows in translation practice in the future.The report shows that in order to do a good job in Chinese-English translation of landscape design texts,translators should not only constantly strengthen their bilingual skills,but also cultivate their critical thinking in the translation process.In addition,translators should be able to put what they have learned into practice and apply the translation theories they have learned to specific translation practices.Besides,translators should be able to make good use of various translation tools in the new era in order to improve their translation efficiency and quality.
