During the Qianlong period, the production level of Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln reached the peak of the history of Chinese ceramic history. On the basis of the original ceramic products, the Qianlong Imperial Kiln created porcelain figures of the Tibetan Buddhism. These kind of porcelain figures not only embody the porcelain production technique of the Qianlong Imperial Kiln, but also reflect the widespread dissemination of Tibetan Buddhism in the Qing Dynasty. The perspective of the thesis is based on Design Science, which studies the craftsmanship, modeling and decoration characteristics of the Tibetan Buddhist porcelain figures of the Qianlong Imperial Kiln. The first part of the thesis discusses a close relationship between the Emperor Qianlong and the Tibetan Buddhism, classifies and briefly describes the characteristics of the Tibetan Buddhist porcelain figures. The second part describes the production process of characteristics of the porcelain figures which mainly comes from inheritance and innovation, production steps and division of work. The third part discusses the modeling characteristics. The modeling style of these porcelain figures is derived from the reference and redesign of the palace or statue samples by the craftsmen of the Imperial Kiln.By comparing the similarities and differences between the porcelain figures and the gold and bronze figures, analyzing the spatial relationship of the proportions and layout of the porcelain figures,it can be seen that its modeling integrates from Chinese painting and ceramic material properties. Finally, through the ceramic painting language in the decoration, the thesis explores design principles, the aesthetic concept of color and the connotation of ornamentation of the Tibetan Buddhist porcelain figures in religious and national culture.
