An Analysis Of The Lexical Semantics Of Clothing

This paper takes the clothing words in the 13 scriptures as the research object,starting from the shape,occasion,color and material of the different clothing words,combining the relevant exegesis works,archaeological achievements in the field of ancient philology,the newly introduced semantic field theory and the semantic element analysis method from the perspective of linguistics,carries on a more comprehensive arrangement,research and summary of the clothing words in the 13 classics.The Thirteen Classics can be said to be the oldest,most important and informative historical materials of ancient Chinese in the existing literature of our country.Especially in the history of the social etiquette system gradually standardized,tended to be fine,gradually fixed in fact,the establishment of a relatively sound public service system,further greatly enriched the type of clothing vocabulary,quantity,pragmatics,semantics and other key factors.Its internal correspondence is certainly a series of independent and regular,and has played a decisive role in the evolution of the lexical system.This paper takes the newly introduced semantic element analysis method as the research method,and extracts the semantic element formula of different clothing words based on the original text of the Thirteen Classics and its related notes.On the premise of common and distinct sememe formulas after comparison of each word,the sub-fields of each sub-field are integrated and compared with each other,and the synonyms of each sub-field are emphatically displayed.Finally,the general semantic field of ancient Chinese costume is constructed,and the coexistence and complementarity of semantic fields are investigated in detail.The research object of this paper refers only to clothes worn on human body except hat,shoes and ornaments.The human body is composed of several parts,such as upper body,lower body,arm,neck and so on,corresponding to the different components of the human body,the article divides the clothing words into five categories: " umbrella class,top class,lower clothes class,top clothes class,other parts class "."The general category" includes the upper words used in the "Thirteen Classics" for clothing words with different meanings;"upper clothes " includes the definition of clothing words that are worn on the upper body of the human body only,which is specifically divided into underwear,middle clothes,outerwear and thick and thin." lower clothes" includes the definition of clothing words that are used to explain the lower clothes of the coat.By extracting the semantic elements of these five categories,the general appearance of the semantic field of the Thirteen Classics is constructed.On the basis of the establishment of semantic field,the relationship between different semantic fields is investigated,which can be divided into classified semantic field,sequential semantic field,relative semantic field,antisense semantic field,branch semantic field and isotactic field.It forms the semantic system of "13 scriptures " costume words in all directions.
