Research On The Musical Characteristics Of Kaitang Miao Flying Songs Of Southeast Guizhou

The Miao ethnic group has a long tradition of keeping up its ethnic music civilization.Flying songs(“Gol Hxak” in Miao language)of Miao ethnic group in southeast Guizhou still own their unique economic,social and historical cultural backgrounds through historical changes.The appeal of Flying songs is based on the distinct image of southeast Guizhou,where Flying songs have been praised as magnificent diamonds and treasures of melody.With its unique musical characteristics and singing styles,the southeast Guizhou folk music has been blooming with unique artistic glamour throughout China.The characteristics of Miao folk music culture were synchronic in time while different in space.The songs of the same music variety belonging to the same historical period varied in different areas,and showed different characteristics.As Leishan Miao flying songs are the most well-known songs of southeast Guizhou,Kaitang Miao Flying Songs also show their own characteristics.This thesis mainly takes Kaitang Miao Flying Songs of southeast Guizhou as an example,making a comparative study with Leishan Flying Songs to explore the musical characteristics and singing styles of Kaitang Flying Songs,so as to obtain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the musical characteristics and singing skills of Kaitang Miao Flying Songs of southeast Guizhou.
