| Currently,with the development of e-commerce,China’s logistics industry has ushered in an unprecedented favorable time.However,restrictive factors,such as the unsound managing system hinder the development of express industry.To solve this problem,it is urgent to change the current situation and learn advanced management philosophy from its international counterparts,which demonstrates the significance of translating materials of code of business of conduct in express field.This translation report mainly discusses translation problems that the translator facing in the process of translating and tries to tackle these problems under the guidance of Susan ?ar?evi?’s legal text typology theory and Li Kexing and Zhang Xinhong’s principles of legal translation.The source text is articles of association,which belongs to regulatory legal text.While translating the source text,the translator encountered some knotty problems in the following three aspect.Firstly,in lexical level,first person pronoun “we”,which occurs more than 200 times and doublets and triplets need special attention.To translate it,the translator applied translation techniques of literal translation and transliteration according to the context where it occurs.As for doublets and triplets,the translator used literal translation to deal with those with finest differences and use combination to deal with those with a relation of entailment.Secondly,in syntactic level,the translation of passive voice sentences and long and complicated sentences influence the readability of the target text.When translating passive voice sentences,the translator applied passive-active conversion and amplification to address problem,while for long and complex sentences,the translator employed inversion and diversion to sort out those tricky clauses.Thirdly,in textual level,the translator focus on the translation of legal language,subtitles and modal verbs with the hope to try to reproduce original style.The translator hopes this translation report can provide material for domestic express industry to improve their operating and management model and offer some suggestions on some specific translation problems to those who have interest in translating code of business conduct. |
