As a well-known American director,Wes Anderson occupies an important position in contemporary cinema.As of 2020,Anderson won the 68 th Berlin International Film Industry Best Director Award for Isle of Dogs,and has been nominated at the Venice International Film Festival and the American Academy Awards.Anderson has currently produced nine feature films,and his films have a very personal style,which has attracted the attention of film scholars and fans.Anderson was born in a middle-class family and grew up in a time when cameras and video tapes were popular.A large number of film observations and literary works have had an important impact on his film creation.The independent film production mode,the focus on people themselves,the neat composition and long-shift lens movement,the use of colorful colors,and the post-modernist collage mixing technique are the characteristics of Anderson films.This thesis is divided into five chapters to discuss Anderson’s background life,film theme,works characters,narrative methods,audio-visual style.The first chapter locates Anderson in the corresponding era characteristics background by combing the historical background and personal experience of Anderson’s growth;The second chapter discusses the humanistic theme connotation of Anderson film with fairy tale color;The third chapter discusses the characters in Anderson film,from the characteristics of the dolls displayed show how Anderson combined his fairy tale film world through obvious artificial traces;The fourth chapter analyzes Anderson’s film narrative and considers Anderson’s postmodern alienation and his response to the real world in the narrative process;The fifth chapter analyzes the most remarkable audio-visual style of Anderson films.As a distinctive American director,Anderson’s domestic research has not received corresponding attention.This article attempts to use minimal power to expand the value of Anderson’s director,and provide a more novel perspective for thefuture research of Anderson and his works.
