| In terms of ways to achieve political revolution,compared with the British Revolution and the American Revolution,the model of the French Revolution obviously played the most important concern or influence in the decades from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia.However,such concern and influence are based on different identities,different positions and different purposes,which cause quite complicated differences and misunderstandings.The process of translation and transformation of the word "revolution" in Confucianism to French Revolution and Japanese can be fully reflected in the practice of the translation and revaluation of "revolution" in the texts of Wang Tao,Li Timothy,Kang Youwei,Liang Qichao,Sun Yixian,Leng Xue,Hu Shi and Chen Duxiu.The era,knowledge background,political position and behavioral motivation of different intellectuals determine their interpretation of revolutionary ideas,but they are in varying degrees with Confucian culture,showing an attitude of reinterpretation,or improvement,or confrontation.The thesis mainly focuses on the process of translation,introduction,understanding,acceptance,and influence related to the French Revolution in the late Qing and early Republic period.Through the comparative analysis of different types of texts by officials,scholar-bureaucrat,intellectuals and others,trace the trajectory of the cultural translation introduction of the "French Revolution",clarifies the focal relationship between the literary mission and political purpose,and then explores the long-term impact of the interaction between literary translation and revolutionary politics on modern literary creation,literary interpretation,and the construction of literary theory.This also has methodological significance for the in-depth study of keywords in thought and culture at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. |
