The short video apps represented by Tik Tok have grown rapidly,bringing their hot music into the audience’s vision.Almost every once in a while,there are some songs from these apps become popular in the streets.Although these songs have a large audience,in most cases people cannot remember the whole songs and their names,but the part of these songs that are popular in the apps.Different people usually give different comments on these songs,but the controversy has not affected the popularity of them.The popularity of short video music cannot be separated from the participation and imitation of users.The popular music on the short video platform is usually intercepted from the chorus of the song,with strong rhythm,repetitive melody and straightforward lyrics.The collocation of music with a short video mode reduces the threshold of short video filming and imitation.Users do not need to understand what they’re spreading and they can participate the interactive of the platform by a simple imitation.Throughout this process,the fragments of songs can multiplied rapidly in the platform like memes.This paper attempts to study the spread of music memes on short video platforms from the perspective of memes theory.Short video platform emerges in the era of mobile Internet,and the change of communication scene caused the change of communication practice.People use short video platform to communicate and participate in digital cultural life,during which they not only produce digital memes,but also produce social relationship networks.As a typical representative of short video platform,Tik Tok has a lot of memes resources available for study.The author used the method of network ethnography to understand the interaction through Tik Tok and used the method of case study and content analysis to find out the typical music memes,identify their characteristics,how they are used and popularized and their communication logic.Finally,the intermediary characteristics and connotation of music memes has discussed.This paper found exactly music memes in the short video platform has become an important element of short video transmission ecology,which has influenced the pop music industry,music aesthetic and audiovisual aesthetic.As a kind of digital memes,music memes have a strong ability to attract attention,which has become an effective mean for businesses and ordinary individuals to communicate.The spread of music memes causes the integration of visual and auditory aesthetics.It also brings fragmentation of aesthetics,diffusion of aesthetic from low social class to high social class and mobile traffic hegemony.
