Exploring Construction Of Online Contract Translation Teaching Platform Based On Self-complied Corpus

With the rapid development of modern society and globalization,international trade among countries is becoming more and more interdependent.Facing the everchanging global situation and commercial environment,legal documents and contracts for international commercial activities are especially important.Legal contract documents play vital roles in regulating commercial behavior and maintaining market order,which is the guarantee of regulation and order of domestic and international commercial activities.The growing national economic growth requires more highly qualified translators.Meanwhile,the standardization,rigorousness and accuracy of legal documents raise a higher bar for translators as well.In order to follow the trend,this contract translation course is striving to cultivate more professional and qualified translators for the country.Due to certain limitations and disadvantages in traditional teaching mode,this thesis aims to assist translation teaching and learning by applying online large corpus and build up the online corpus of contract translation course.Based on these,the author intends to summarize and conclude students’ mistakes from the aspect of conjunction words while exploring new teaching modes with the application of corpus.This thesis includes five chapters.The first chapter is Background Introduction,which explains the research purpose,significance and basic theories of corpus,laying the foundation for the following research.The second chapter is Literature Review,which includes relevant readings of corpus,translation teaching,translation teaching combined with corpus,contract translation and conjunction words.The third chapter is the analysis of conjunction words in contract translation based on corpus.By using relevant software,such as Wordsmith,the author processes and analyzes the students’ homework on contract translation class and summarize the frequent mistakes and major problems that may confuse students.In this way,this thesis could provide materials and reference for teaching and building online corpus.The fourth chapter is exploring translation teaching mode combined with corpus.This chapter demonstrates the current situation that students study through large corpus system,teachers utilize existed large corpus to assist teaching and build online corpus to assist teaching and study.The last chapter is Conclusion and Looking Forward,which summarizes the achievements and reflects pending questions in order to provide a useful reference for future research.The thesis,from a micro perspective of conjunction words,is a beneficial supplement for corpus research.Besides,the thesis is combined with the contract translation class,which can motivate students and relieve teachers’ burden.All in all,it is a positive exploration in terms of academy and teaching.
