| This is a survey report on MI students’ application of social strategies in interpreting training in western China.The research subjects are 103 second-year MI students from seven universities with graduate institutes of interpretation in the western region of China.Questionnaire is used as the instrument in this research to collect first-hand data on the overall application situation of social strategies,and of each strategy set,i.e.asking questions,cooperating with others,and empathizing with others,in interpreting training among MI students in western China.Descriptive statistical analyses are carried out through SPSS.Based on data analysis,the research finds that the application situation of social strategies in interpreting training among second-year MI students in seven universities in western China is above the average.As for the three specific strategy sets,cooperating with others is applied more frequently than empathizing with others,and empathizing with others is used more frequently than asking questions.The result can help interpreting trainers understand trainees’ learning behaviors and provide statistical support for future explorations on the application of social strategies in interpreting training. |
