| Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet is a classic work of the world literature.The translation of the play in China has a history of more than one hundred years,and the accumulated literature is vast.Since the beginning of the new century,the translation of Hamlet in China has been continuing,provides more and more materials and new perspectives for the study of the play in China,and promotes the study of its humanistic thought,tragic spirit and artistic characteristics;moreover,with the continuous translation of Hamlet in China,it has exerted great influence on all periods of modern and contemporary Chinese literature,such as the influence during the May 4th Movement on Hu Shi’s literary thoughts and Lu Xun’s novels,the influence during the 1930 s and 1940 s on Cao Yu’s and Guo Moruo’s plays,and even the influence after entering the new century on the Chinese tragic film art,which are inseparable from the translation of Hamlet.Taking Hamlet as a special topic and Hamlet translation in China as a breakthrough point,this paper combs and compares the representative texts and translation styles of Hamlet translation,and on this basis,it explores the humanistic thought,the tragic spirit and the artistic characteristics of Hamlet.In addition,representative cases will be selected to evaluate the impact of Hamlet translation on Chinese modern and contemporary literary creation over the past 100 years.According to the above ideas,the main body of the paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter discusses the translation of Hamlet over the past 100 years,which is divided into two sections: the first section,in chronological order,analyzes the translators of Hamlet and the names and characteristics of different versions;the second section chooses the translation styles of the classical versions of Hamlet indifferent periods to show the analyses and comments.The second chapter discusses the influence of Hamlet translation on the study of Chinese literature,which is divided into three sections: the first section is about the translation and communication of Hamlet and Chinese humanism thinking,including the research on the development and characteristics of humanism,the significance,and the limitations of Hamlet’s humanism thought;the second section is about Hamlet translation and Chinese academia’s tragedy,which includes the study of the causes of tragedy,the transcendence of tragedy,the “ghost plot” of Hamlet,and the concept of Chinese and western tragedy caused by Hamlet;the third section states that the translation of Hamlet promotes the study of drama conflict and tragedy art theory,which includes the discussion of drama conflict in Hamlet,the revelation of the complexity of characters,the discussion of the complexity of characters,and the analysis of style and technique of expression.The third chapter expounds the influence of Hamlet translation on literature and film creation.The first section discusses the influence of Hamlet on the enlightenment writers of the May 4th Movement;the second section discusses the influence of Hamlet on the drama creation of the 1930 s and 1940s;the third section discusses the influence of Hamlet on the film and television creation of the new century. |
