The arts of the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties belong to an important transitional period in the history of Chinese art. There are many free and vivid murals in the tombs of this period, and the curtain image,as a common art style in the tombs of this period, reflects the cultural variation of this special turning point with its own unique evolution process. The curtain image in the tomb runs through the big framework of the tomb art in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties. This paper makes a longitudinal analysis of the content, structure, shape, decoration and evolution of the tomb art curtain image from the Sixteen Kingdoms, the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Northern Qi Dynasty. On the whole, the curtain image of this period has experienced a process of evolution from simple to complex from the form of expression to the content of expression.Curtain image as an important part of the artistic expression of Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties, its complex and changeable political power is closely related to the variability of society, the universality of the spread of Buddhism, the complexity of national integration, the diversity of cultural exchanges and so on.The curtain image in the tombs of the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties is mainly accompanied by the image of the owner of the tomb, which changes with the change of the protagonist in the aspects of shape, color, line, decoration and so on.At the same time, its schema structure is relatively fixed, mainly the feast picture of the owner of the tomb, which is combined with the whole space of the tomb, and the symmetrical structure with the curtain surrounding the portrait of the tomb as the center shows a ceremonial spatial sequence. The space expressed in this image and the spatial relationship between the tomb and the mural itself express a grand narrative scene. In the aspect of tomb culture in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties, there were not only the absorption and inheritance of Han culture by the minority regime, but also the integration and development of foreign culture and minority culture in the western region. All these are reflected from a unique point of view through the evolution of the curtain image in this period. The Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties connected the most important Han and Tang dynasties in Chinese art history with a unique identity.Due to the dual influence of Buddhist culture and northern minority culture, they unconsciously innovated the culture and art of Qin and Han dynasties. It opened a brilliant chapter for the open and inclusive art of the Tang Dynasty. The art history of this period, especially the curtain image in the tomb art, shows the infiltration of foreign culture and the change of social life style both from the curtain space form and from the tomb space art.
