At present, the ever-changing external environment requires organizations to respond quickly. In order to complete a certain task within a given time, the organization usually adopts the organization form of a temporary team to arrange the work.Because team members are often from different organizations or departments, and members are not familiar with each other, there is often a lack of trust between members, which will lead to a decline in team work efficiency. Therefore, how to establish swift trust among temporary team members is an important topic of current organizational management and practice. This study focuses on the mechanism of positive emotions between emotional intelligence and swift trust, and the functional boundary of task complexity. In order to better support the research hypotheses proposed in this paper, two studies were used for data collection. The first study collected 201 valid data through a questionnaire survey, and the second study collected 90 valid data through a experiment. The results show that:(1)in the temporary team, the individual’s emotional intelligence has a significant positive impact on the positive emotions of other members;(2)in the temporary team, the positive emotions of members will positively affect swift trust;(3)in the temporary team, the emotional intelligence of individuals will affect the swift trust of other members by affecting the positive emotions of other members, that is,positive emotions play an intermediary role between emotional intelligence and swift trust;(4)task complexity regulates the positive effect of positive emotions on swift trust.specifically, the higher the task complexity, the stronger the positive impact of positive emotions on swift trust, and the weaker the opposite. Finally,we talked about the meaning of the findings and management implications.
