A Study On Annotations Of Caizi-Jiaren Novel During The Early And Middle Qing Dynasty

In the early Qing dynasty,the Caizi-Jiaren Novel met its climax and continued to the middle of the Qing dynasty.At the same time,the annotations of popular novel continued to flourish in the late Ming dynasty and continued to develop with the combination of commercial and literary nature.On the one hand,we can have a deep understanding of the reception of the Caizi-Jiaren Novel,and on the other hand,we can get a glimpse of the periodical appearance of the popular novel.The thesis consists of four parts: preface,body,conclusion and appendix.The preface first defines the relevant concepts,makes clear the reason why the research scope is limited to the early and middle period of the Qing dynasty,and briefly summarizes the research status of annotations of the Caizi-Jiaren Novel.In the first chapter,the author firstly sorts out the existence of annotations of the Caizi-Jiaren Novel in the early and middle period of the Qing dynasty,makes clear the number and edition of the annotations,and then summarizes the main forms and characteristics of the annotations.Secondly,explain how the annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel produce from three aspects which includes the commercial nature of the novel,the produce of Caizi-Jiaren Novel and the reviewers.The second chapter,combining with the novel text,analyzes the strategies and aesthetic taste of the commentary on the characters,plots and thoughts of the talented and beautiful novels in the early and middle period of the qing dynasty.The third chapter,combined with the commentary content,explains the three characteristics of the annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel during the early and middle Qing dynasty,including emotion experience,literati self-appreciation and moral sensitivity,from which it can be seen that the theme types of Caizi-Jiaren Novel and the reviewers’ personal interest have a profound impact on the appearance of the annotations.The fourth chapter,this paper discusses value and limitations of annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel in the early and middle Qing dynasty.On the one hand,the annotations promoted the popularity of Caizi-Jiaren Novel and the formation of aesthetic interest,formed a universal understanding of the artistic quality of popular novels and carried on the tradition of annotations from the late Ming dynasty combining literary nature with commercial nature.On the other hand,due to the reviewers’ neglect of the emotional grasp of the works and the excessive involvement of the moral factors in the commentary,it also makes the annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel lose its due spiritual value.Appendix 1 is "annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel in the early and middle Qing dynasty",which mainly explains the version and time of the annotations,and expounds its value,characteristics and shortcomings in the context of Caizi-Jiaren Novel.Appendix 2 is a list of comments on annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel in the early and middle Qing dynasty.Appendix 3 is the outline of Quan-Dian in the annotations of Caizi-Jiaren Novel during the early and middle Qing dynasty.
