Musical theatre is a comprehensive art combining music,dance,and theater performances.Western musicals have evolved and evolved for nearly a hundred years.From the beginning of the vulgar smorgasbord to becoming a cultural symbol of a nation,musicals have swept the world with its unique charm and still become the rising sun art with great influence today.The development period of the Chinese musical theatre market is relatively short.From ignorance to difficult progress,today’s Chinese musical theatre market has finally ushered in "spring".Since 2000,more and more western musicals have been introduced to China,and more and more original Chinese musicals have been released.Since the variety show "Sound Into the Heart" was broadcast in 2019,it has let the musical come into the sight of more people.Nowadays,although the Chinese musical theater market is alive,it cannot be considered that the market has been stabilized for a brief glitz.For the time being,the introduction of Chinese musical theater repertoire is mainly based on introduction and relocation.Many original musicals are only short-lived.There are few truly successful works,let alone affecting the world.In such an impetuous environment,how can we stabilize our minds,grasp the market trend of Chinese musicals,and better develop original musicals? This is what the "musicians" should do now.This article finds the reason for its success by analyzing the artistic ontology of "Phantom of the Opera";using questionnaire surveys and document combing to understand the development status of the domestic musical theatre market after 2000,comparatively analyzing their advantages and disadvantages,and finding out the original Chinese music An effective method for the development of the drama market.The author believes that "The Phantom of the Opera" has something to learn and imitate from the script art itself to its market spread.The Chinese musical theatre market can only go abroad through continuous improvement and create original Chinese musicals that can influence the world."Phantom of the Opera" is one of the four major musicals in the world.This classic musical with world influence has won many Tony Awards,performed in 20 countries,translated into multiple languages,and various versions have been put on the screen.Such a landmark musical has two major impacts on the Chinese musical theatre market.First,direct impact.Introduced in China in 2004,it can be said to be the first work of many Chinese audiences entering the musical,and many middle school music classrooms will also choose it as an example.At the same time,it also has a big impact on the development direction of Chinese musicals after 2000.Second,the indirect influence is also the focus of this study.From the perspective of art itself and its influence,studying "The Phantom of the Opera" and looking for ways to improve the quality of musicals in our country can help us better promote the development of original Chinese musicals.
