| In September 2018,the United States,Mexico and Canada reached an agreement on updating the North American Free Trade Agreement(hereinafter referred to as NAFTA).The new trade agreement was named "the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement"(hereinafter referred to as USMCA).At a time in the school library,a book caught the translator’s attention---Making North America: Trade,Security,and Integration.This book is mainly about the trilateral relations of Canada,the United States and Mexico and how these relations shift and develop at different time and under different world situations.After reading,the translator decided to translate the Chapter 3 of it with the guidance of Peter Newmark’s communicative translation strategy and thus write a translation report accordingly,stating the translator’s finding of the significance of this translation strategy in instructing translation of informative texts and of useful translation skills in handling with some translation difficulties.The translation report includes five chapters.The first Chapter will introduce the project’s background and why the translator chose it.The second Chapter is about the process of the translation work.The third Chapter is the theoretical framework.Chapter four is about how to use related translation strategies and skills to deal with specific translation difficulties under the guidance of Newmark’s Communicative Translation Strategy.The last Chapter is the conclusion. |
