How to maintain China’s independence and sustainable development in a multicultural and ever-changing world,and how to continue the spirit of the Chinese nation,is a question worth pondering by Chinese scholars.In the context of Chinese culture,this is closely related to thinking about how to become a person with virtues and morality.In this way,the Pre-Qin Confucian gentleman personality thought is obviously of great practical significance today.The article adheres to the principle of combining ideological history with social history,as well as,puts the gentleman personality advocated by the Pre-Qin Confucianism in the historical and cultural background of its formation and development.In order to fully understand the Pre-Qin Confucian gentleman thought of the main connotation and core value and seek its value in contemporary cultural heritage and national rejuvenation.During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period,the throne was disintegrated,Culture was shocked,Governors disputed and the world was in turmoil.Since three generations of etiquette tradition has been impacted,the society calls for the birth of a new personality to adapt to The Times,people gradually realize the important role of human education.Based on this,the Confucian scholars of the Pre-in dynasty put forward the theory of the gentleman with profound cultural accumulation.It can be seen from many early documents such as "Shangshu","Book of Songs" and "Book of Changes",we can see that "gentleman" is still a symbol of status,but generally refers to people with high status.Confucius moralized the "gentleman" and spread the importance of cultivating the "gentleman personality" through the influence of the gentleman on the social status.This thesis tries to guide people to cultivate moral characters by constructing the ideal personality of the gentleman,and to improve the social situation of the ritual collapse.The article uses comparative analysis,literature analysis and other methods to summarize many Pre-Qin Confucian classics(including "The Analects","Mencius","Xunzi","Yi Zhuan",etc.)This paper discusses the connotation,cultivation and function of the superior man.The thesis holds that the Pre-Qin Confucian gentleman thought has a profound impact on individual self-cultivation and national construction.Therefore,it is of theoretical and practical value to study it in order to inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture as well as enhance the cultural self-confidence and the national moral quality.
