Translation Strategies Of Nominalization In EST

As technology becomes more innovative,especially after the Belt and Road Initiative was born,the translation of EST is of vital importance in the process of globalization.The texts of science and technology are intensive,logical,objective and structured,highly characterized by nominalized structures and passive voice.Traditionally,nominalization classifies into derivatives from verbs or adjectives,simple or complex nominalized structures.In this dissertation,it is mainly divided into class-shift structures and rank-shift ones,respectively including affix-derivation and zero-derivation,phrase and clause which is typical of "to do"and "V-ing".Based on typical examples from the Executive Summary and Chapter 1 in Final EIS for Naval Station Mayport,the author summarizes five strategies for class-shift and rank-shift nominalized structures,providing some insight for translating EST.
