Mindfulness training is an unique technique to increase individual’s self-awareness.More and more study has found that mindfulness can influence the attention.However,it is still unknown whether mindfulness training can improve attention control,and lack an effective method to conduct the mindfulness training.This study investigates the relationship between mindfulness and attention control,using the questionnaires and random experiments to find whether mindfulness training can improve attention control,and find an effective online-based mindfulness training.In the first study,we used the MAAS and ACS questionnaire to measure the relationship between self-reported mindfulness and attention control,using 201 college students as our participants,the result shows that self-reported mindfulness is positively correlated with attention control.In the second study,we used different short-term mindfulness straining on attention control.In this study mixed design are used,and the 43 participants were randomly divided into three different mindfulness groups,each group was treated by experiment at the same time.The mindfulness training are based on the Headspace APP,which has two ways: mindfulness breathing and mindfulness body-scan,each lasts 10 mins.GO-NOGO task and Stroop task are used to test the attention control.The result shows that a short-term mindful breathing exercise can improve the attention control;mindful breathing exercise are better than body-scan group and control group.In the third study,we used a long-term mindfulness training on attention control.In this study,the experience design is the same as the second study,and the 28 participants were randomly divided into three different mindfulness groups,each group was treated by experiment at the same time,the mindfulness training lasts for 10 days.The attention control are tested the same as the study 2.The result shows that a long-term mindful breathing exercise can improve the attention control.The result shows that: Self-reported mindfulness is positively correlated with attention control,the higher the self-reported mindfulness is,the higher the attention control;A short-term mindful breathing exercise can improve the attention control;mindful breathing exercise are better than body-scan group and control group;A long-term mindful breathing exercise can improve the attention control.Mindful breathing exercise are better than body-scan group and control group.The long-term mindful breathing exercise are better than the short-term.Therefore,the awareness of our daily breathing is highly recommended to improve our attention control,and cultivate the awareness of the present moment.
