In actual linguistic communication, the relationship between the form of expression and the meaning of language is not always one-to-one,and semantic confusion will occur when the meaning intended to be conveyed by the transmitter is not consistent with the meaning to be accepted by the receiver. There are many reasons for this phenomenon, one of the most representative is ambiguity. The existence of ambiguity sets up certain barriers to language communication and affects the smooth transmission of information. So the study of ambiguity is not only necessary but also integrant. In view of the current situation that most studies are limited to a single language, this thesis aims to draw on the experience of predecessors and turn its attention to ambiguous sentences in Korean and Chinese. The comparative analysis of Korean and Chinese ambiguity can give us a lot of enlightenment, which can not only help language learners in both countries better understand the ambiguity problem, but also play a positive role in the grammar analysis of Korean and Chinese ambiguity structure.Korean and Chinese belong to different language families,so there are different ambiguities in their respective systems.Taking Korean and Chinese ambiguous sentences as the object of study, this thesis analyzes the structural features of Korean and Chinese ambiguous sentences and expounds the methods of disambiguation by using the method of contrastive linguistics,so as to reveal the similarities and differences between Korean and Chinese languages in the expressions of ambiguous structures. This thesis is divided into five parts:The first part introduces the purpose and significance of the topic, research status and research methods. The second part explains the theoretical background of the thesis, mainly including the concept of ambiguity and the types of ambiguity, and then leads to the types of ambiguity structure:Syntactic ambiguity and semantic ambiguity.Among them, syntactic ambiguity includes four syntactic relations:Modification, connection, comparison and pause.Semantic ambiguity includes three semantic relations:Reference, scope of action and scope of meaning. In the third part, according to the above classification, makes a comparative analysis of each type of Korean and Chinese ambiguous sentences, and expounds their similarities and differences in structural characteristics. The results show that the two languages are in close contact with each other,so there are some common points in the process of writing. However, the structure of different languages is different, and the language habits and ways of thinking of different nationalities are also different. This is mainly reflected in the following aspects:Firstly,Chinese is an isolated language with a fixed word order compared with Korean, and sentence elements play a subtle role in the two languages, which makes the generation of ambiguous sentences in Korean more diversified than that in Chinese.Secondly, there is a gap in Korean, but not in Chinese, which leads to ambiguities in Chinese syntax.Thirdly, there are no case particles in Chinese, which makes the semantic relation of Chinese sentences unclear and leads to ambiguity. The fourth part deals with different types of ambiguity. There are mainly the following six methods to disambiguate:Stress, pause, word order conversion, insertion, substitution and context analysis. The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the previous contents, discusses the shortcomings of this thesis, and predicts the future research work.
