According to the 2011 compulsory education English curriculum standard,"assessment" is an vital part of English curriculum.The scientific and reasonable teaching assessment system is an important way to achieve the teaching goal.Teaching assessment is an important teaching method and a key teaching means,but also a record of the growth of students.Through the assessment,the students can continue to grow in the learning of English courses.Students can know about their insufficient understanding in their learning process,then build up confidence and promote the comprehensive development of students’ English learning ability.At the same time,it also enables teachers to timely obtaining feedback information on English teaching.What’s more,assessment also can be the timely reflection on teachers’ teaching methods and skills,and constantly improve their teaching.The assessment of primary school English teachers is extremely unique.The assessment of primary school English teachers needs to be combined with the characteristics of the English subject itself and the characteristics of primary school students’ age,which puts forward requirements for the assessment literacy of primary school English teachers.That is,the assessment literacy of primary school English teachers is required to be high.For primary school English teachers,they have high assessment literacy,it means that it can locate the level and effect of teachers’ teaching with assessment data,which is convenient for English teachers to teach in accordance with their aptitude.As a primary school English teacher,we should update our assessment knowledge in time and give students more comprehensive,accurate and objective feedback in time.It can be use to promote the learning and development of students with the correct concept of assessment practice.Based on the theory of professional development of primary school English teachers,this study uses literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview to study the assessment literacy of primary school English teachers.This study will discuss the following aspects:1)What do primary school English teachers know about assessment literacy?2)What attitude do primary school English teachers hold on assessment?3)How do primary school English teachers assess student(assessment ability)?Based on the above research,this thesis analyzes the basic concepts of teachers’ language assessment literacy by literature review.And sorts out the concept analysis of related language assessment literacy.Through the reference and research on the existing scholars’ research on teachers’ assessment literacy questionnaire,a questionnaire survey suitable for primary school English teachers’ assessment literacy is designed to investigate the current situation of primary school English teachers’ assessment literacy.The questionnaire is divided into three dimensions,which are assessment awareness,assessment knowledge and assessment skills.The questionnaire takes primary school English teachers as the research subject.The questions consist of 31 questions.341 questionnaires were distributed in total,and 341 effective questionnaires were actually collected.12 primary school English teachers were interviewed individually to further study the assessment literacy of primary school English teachers.Through the analysis of the data collected from the questionnaire by SPSS.It is found that at present,the assessment literacy of primary school English teachers is not high.Most primary school English teachers have taken courses or training related to teaching assessment or testing before they are on the job.But for primary school English teachers,the assessment literacy is not clear enough.What’s more,the knowledge and skills of primary school English assessment are not high.It is also necessary to further improve the assessment literacy of English teachers for the special age group of primary school.
