Orchids In The Dark:Research On Female Images In Works Produced By The Three Amigos In Cinema

This paper chooses the female images in the movies directed by Alfonso Cuaron,Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarito as the research objects,and takes the female suffering as the starting point to explore the feminist thinking from the Trinity directors with the Mexican cultural brand.This paper consists of the introduction and the main body.The introduction part includes the background of the topic,research status,research content and methods,research significance,etc.There are five chapters in the main body.The first chapter combs the female images in the works of "The Three Amigos in Cinema" and finds out that their composition is diverse.According to the women’s characters,all the images can be classified into five categories:girls,housewives,intellectual women,marginal women and female soldiers.The second chapter reveals the common plight of women,and analyzes the three main causes:firstly,the patriarchal tendency of the original civilization in Central America,the male privilege in the Spanish colonial era and the patriarchal struggle inherited by the worship of "masculinity" in the modern Mexican civilization;Secondly,the cultural brand brought by the female archetypes in the national allegories of Malinche.La Lorona and the virgin of Guadalupe;Thirdly,the ethnic estrangement left over from the colonial era and the baptism of the times caused by the turbulent times.The third chapter focuses on the methods of women’s coping with difficulties in the movies,and points out that they can be roughly divided into two categories:"ineffective coping" and "effective coping".In the former,women fail to change their own situation even if they are exhausted,or go on the road of self destruction in the wrong way;In the latter,women dare to face the bad truth and abandon the old things to meet the new one so that they can rebuild the value of life,or keep faith until success.The fourth chapter focuses on the unique artistical techniques of "three masters" in shaping female images.Among them,Alejandro is good at using color to narrate,he uses color and light and shadow to render the character’s situation and indicate the psychological changes of the characters;Alfonso has a special interest in the art of lens scheduling,uses curious lens to build the panorama of the story,uses the contrast in the lens to build the contradiction between the two sexes,and uses The symbolic lens praises the glory of motherhood;Guillermo pursues the ultimate experience of film art design and depicts the emotions and psychology of characters with excellent costume and props design.The fifth chapter is the reflection of the cultural value of the female image in the works of "three masters".It thinks that these works,on the one hand,rewrite the national fables and female temperament in Mexico,on the other hand,practice and enrich the feminist film theory.At the same time,in view of some problems of the female image in Chinese films,we can extract some valuable ways from the wisdom of the Trinity’s female shaping.Under the real-time influence of culture and market,the film with its unique lens language and art form has a rich view of the real women."Film is an art of women",the "three masters" from Mexico devoted considerable efforts to the female characters,making them show us rich aesthetic value,cultural connotation and social significance.
