With the rapid development of Internet technology and the increasing popularity of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets,online socialization has quickly become the second space for people’s interpersonal communication.It has become an important social environment that affects individual development.In the process of online social networking,especially social networking sites,network self-disclosure is ubiquitous.Empirical research also shows that the particularity of the network environment makes it more conducive to self-disclosure than college students.In addition,another study also shows that self-disclosure in the use of social networking sites is not only beneficial to individuals to establish or maintain good interpersonal relationships with others.According to the experience of social networking sites,individuals in the social networking sites(such as QQ space,friends circle)self-disclosure,if the individual is not set,users of non-buddy list can also view the information disclosed.Based on this,this study uses the experimental method to explore the influence of the degree of self-disclosure of unfamiliar friends on the initial trust of the unfamiliar friends in the process of adding strange friends.Study 1 uses experimental design methods to examine the effects of gender similarities and differences and the degree of self-disclosure on the interpersonal initial trust of college students.Study 2 uses the same research method as Study 1,to examine the impact of gender similarities and differences and the forms of self-disclosure on the interpersonal initial trust of college students.This study mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)The degree of self-disclosure of the network affects the interpersonal initial trust of college students,and more self-disclosure shows that the initial level of interpersonal trust is higher;(2)The gender of the other party and the degree of self-disclosure of the network affect the interpersonal initial trust of the university students: when the gender of the other party is female,the higher level of self-disclosure shows that the interpersonal initial trust level is also higher;when the other gender is male,there is no significant difference.(3)The form of self-disclosure of the network affects the interpersonal initial trust of college students.Compared with the self-exposed form of self-disclosure,the self-exposed form of the text has a higher level of interpersonal trust.(4)The interaction between the gender of the other party and the self-disclosure form of the network affects the interpersonal initial trust of the university students: when the gender of the other party is female,compared with the self-disclosure form of the text,the self-disclosure form of the text has a higher level of interpersonal initial trust;At the time,compared with the self-exposed form of self-disclosure,the self-exposed form of the text has a higher initial interpersonal trust.This reminds us that in the process of making friends online,more self-disclosure will have a higher level of trust.At the same time,men should carry out more self-disclosure of words,and women should carry out more self-disclosure.This is important for the individual’s initial trust,the first impression management.
