| Senior English curriculum standards require that the aim of English teaching is to cultivate students’ comprehensive language ability and their intercultural communication awareness.In today’s increasingly frequent cross-cultural communication,foreign language learners should not only have a solid language foundation,but also have good pragmatic competence,in order to achieve communicative success.Therefore,it is very important to cultivate the students’ pragmatic competence.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of pragmatic learning and pragmatic competence of senior high school students,and the relationship between grammatical competence and pragmatic competence is also discussed.So this study takes high school students as subjects.In addition,the research approaches of document research,observation and investigation are also used.The results show that most of the students’ English learning motivation has changed in the new situation,with a certain degree of pragmatic awareness.The cultural awareness of contemporary English teachers has also been strengthened.But under the influence of the current education system,the problem of "emphasizing language forms at the expense of ignoring language use" in English teaching is still serious.On the other hand,The English pragmatic competence of senior high school students is,relatively speaking,insufficient What’s more,due to the lack of pragmatic knowledge and the uneven development of pragmatic competence,students have different degrees of pragmatic failure in pragmalinguistic and sociopragmatic aspects.At the same time,there is no significant correlation between their grammatical competence and pragmatic competence.Their grammatical competence is not directly proportional to the pragmatic competence.The development of these students’ pragmatic competence lags behind their grammatical competence.Through the analysis and discussion of the research results,the thesis analyzes the problems existing in the development of English teaching and students’pragmatic competence in senior high school.Furthermore,some suggestions are put forward to improve the students’ pragmatic competence.As a preliminary study on the English pragmatic competence of the students at basic education stage,this thesis has some reference value. |
